Princess Gets 90 then another 60 Days for Refund

I cancelled my cruise March 15. Today is June 15 so I've waited 90 days. Now they say it takes another 2 billing cycles BS. I called my bank and they say it should take 2-3 days to post. My billing cycle is the 25th of the month so we will enter a second cycle if Princess is correct which I doubt.

Thanks again for the email.  I show the refund was done on May 13th,  it may take one or two billing cycles to show on your statement.  I apologize for the delay.

I don't believe anything from them anymore. I was told mine was processed on April 29th. When I followed up at the end of May I was told it hadn't been processed at all and the rep "must have been looking at the wrong screen"....still waiting, well over 90 days but disputed with credit card so I at least have temp credits at this point. Good luck!

Yup.  Cancelled on March 19th.  Have written numerous letters to Princess and their corporate office.  Even got a call from them saying they were going to expedite and process my refund.  Still waiting.  Horrible customer service.  Will never ever book another cruise with them.  Been laid off fro my job.  Husband has his hours reduced.  Really could use the money.  They just don't seem to care.  Very frustrated and disappointed.

I got the same line about expediting my claim and you see where it got me!

So annoyed.  Princess is a multi billion dollar company who is continuing to earn interest on our money.  No reason for it to take this long to refund.

I would have submitted dispute to my credit card issuer months ago.   No reason to put up with this nonsense.

I did and one was credited permanently back and a second one wasn't because Princess stated they were making the refund.

I find it ignorant that folks seem to think they can get a refund overnight in light of what the situation is.  Every refund is a manual process.  There isn't an automatic process because each transaction has differences.  With the tens of thousands of cancellations on top of not having a huge staff dedicated to handle this problem has resulted in delays in getting everyone's refund done in an immediate manner.  No one anticipated this situation and you just can't take people from other areas of customer support to help with this.  There are still reservations and bookings to handle.

Granted my wife and I aren't ones that are waiting for a refund.  Our last voyage was on the Regal Princess in February as part of the Guinness record for vow renewal and it was just before the virus issues.  We do have two voyages booked for later this year.  One is on the Enchanted Nov. 21st which looks to be her maiden voyage and then on the Crown Princess for the December 29th Panama Canal voyage. With all good wishes we hope that the situation will be such that there is no need to wait for a refund because we will be back on board for our 47th Princess voyage and 460 days at sea.

I do not believe what Princess says and there is not really much evidence of what you say either regarding how Princess is doing refunds or calling CC posters ignorant.  To me it is just naive speculation and probably wishful thinking for a cruise industry comeback because you live in Florida.

Our experience was that we were in the original March 12, 2020 mass cancelation group with Princess and received communication from Princess three different times on three different dates when we could expect to receive our refund and it never happened for each date they said.

We filed a credit card dispute and our credit card company had the thousands of dollars Princess owed us back in our account in less than 3 weeks after the dispute was filed.  WOW.....that was really hard!!!!

There seems to be no rhyme or reason how or when Princess is doing refunds based on the comments on the CC Princess Boards.

I called Princess two weeks ago to cancel 8 Future Cruise Deposits and the agent said I would not get the money refunded until late August or early September 2020.  Yesterday a credit for $800 from Princess was refunded to our credit card.  #princessisajoke

Easy to say when it's not you waiting for over $12,500 and hoping it's not lost in a bankruptcy.

To have to wait months on end when Princess has had full payment since mid January is absolutely unacceptable.   Also to be told they can not tell you when your refund will be processed is ridiculous.  They are a multi billion dollar company holding onto people's money while Princess earns interest on the money. Really!!!

I agree. It would be ignorant to believe you could get a refund overnight. However, many of us "ignorant" folks still waiting have been waiting well over 90 days now with no answers and no explanation. The fact that Princess is unable to even give a timeline of when these will be processed highlights to me that they have handled this very, very badly. Out of 5 cancelled cruises over 4 different lines, Princess is the ONLY one that still owes me money and, ironically, was the first cancelled and the first sail date. The other 3 lines managed to do it within 30 days and 45 days of cancellation - definitely reasonable timeframes. Guess who I will be giving my money to if/when sailing resumes?

Day 98 for us and still no refunds. Filed a credit card dispute and was told by princess that the $16,000+ was processed may 14 and may 21, to date visa has received  $0.00 and our prepaid excursions of $4000+ are still not processed.

We were on a Grand Circle river cruise in france and we were sent home march 14th. Grand circle prorated the cost of the trip including flights and travel insurance and refunded more than we expected within 45 days.

I'm a bit late to the party in replying but I find your comment about  ignorant folks quite offensive. I'VE WAITED  OVER 100 DAYS.  Do you think that's acceptable? Holding other people's money illegally? YES  ILLEGALLY, its supposed to be a 14  day refund in UK. I could go on but I shall  refrain.......

No one is asking for an immediate refund but I would appreciate a clear path towards a delayed refund. Perhaps just 1 script for all of them to use.

Delivery of Enchanted may be delayed according to CCL. Has nothing to do with sea worthiness
