Rare notamermaid Posted April 14, 2021 Author #3752 Share Posted April 14, 2021 Oh, yeah, steampunk! Red tiles as pavement? Definitely Netherlands! I reckon a museum, perhaps natural history. No idea where. Right, need to do some work. notamermaid
Rare Ritabob Posted April 14, 2021 #3753 Share Posted April 14, 2021 Yes, the Netherlands. Yes, a museum. Zero in to which museum .
dogs4fun Posted April 14, 2021 #3754 Share Posted April 14, 2021 Interesting - had not heard the term steampunk. Looked it up and learned something new in the process. I've actually visited this museum (although I favor its sister in St. Petersburg 😉). I don't recall seeing these sculptures.
Rare Coral Posted April 14, 2021 #3755 Share Posted April 14, 2021 Is it the Hermitage Museum in Amsterdam? If so, Wild Card.
Rare Ritabob Posted April 14, 2021 #3756 Share Posted April 14, 2021 Yes, the Hermitage in Amsterdam. This visit was in 2018 and the sculptures may not have been permanent. Wild card!

Well - obvious to those familiar with St. Petersburg’s museums. 😁
Rare gnome12 Posted April 14, 2021 #3759 Share Posted April 14, 2021 I find the sculptures very interesting. I love the way they are made out of odd pieces of metal.
dogs4fun Posted April 14, 2021 #3760 Share Posted April 14, 2021 (edited) Ok, have scraped up a photo so will claim the wildcard. Name the town, river & structure on which this little critter is located. Those who have visited will recognize it immediately - the guides usually point it out or someone in the group inquires about it. 😏 Edited April 14, 2021 by dogs4fun

sharkster77 Posted April 14, 2021 #3763 Share Posted April 14, 2021 It's not the dog on the pulpit in Strasbourg Cathedral---I've already used that one for an earlier quiz!!

Rare notamermaid Posted April 14, 2021 Author #3765 Share Posted April 14, 2021 I also thought the Rhine was most likely due to the red sandstone. A church or cathedral probably, with some netting and wire against pigeons. notamermaid

Renmar Posted April 14, 2021 #3768 Share Posted April 14, 2021 Let me guess, How many churches/cathedrals are there along the Rhine River. Way too many, I go with @Coraland try to guess the dog breed 🙂. Theo

You can also read about the significance of the little guy (who had a sad ending).

Rare notamermaid Posted April 14, 2021 Author #3771 Share Posted April 14, 2021 Ah, Siegfried of Nibelungen fame. And Hagen who threw the gold into the Rhine - people are still looking for it. Seriously, although it is a legend (or is it...?). notamermaid
