ChucktownSteve Posted December 16, 2020 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2020 (edited) Cruise Critic posted an article on this year's Wave Season. https://www.cruisecritic.com/news/5786/ "Wave season -- that period when cruise lines offer some of their best deals of the year -- is upon us. Usually running from January through March, wave season often brings with it sizeable cruise discounts and perks." It's interesting that Celebrity isn't mentioned. I suppose the "Always Included" increased pricing is the new Wave Promotion? Edited December 16, 2020 by ChucktownSteve
mikkelhansen Posted December 16, 2020 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2020 So far, "Always Included" has overruled any actual promotions. Just look at the Black Friday promotion, Celebrity literally promoted AI as "Black Friday every day". I wouldn't expect to see any crazy promotions until sailing resumes. Be it in March 2021, during Summer 2021 or even not before 2022.
bikerunner Posted December 16, 2020 #3 Share Posted December 16, 2020 Not really many specials for any of the cruiselines after talking to two friends who are TS's some here and there with the more exclusive but overall just a play on words with the sales. Agree with above wont start seeing any specials to cruise lines start sailing and probalby not to they are able to get at least 75% (probably more/closer no restrictions on occupancy) occupancy allowed moving forward. The lines will be looking for bringing down the debt they have built up over the last year to get there books in order. I expect a Credit Downgrade for many of the Travel type companies coming next year so it will be a very bumpy ride overall on recovery
sydbarrett Posted December 16, 2020 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2020 I am waiting hopefully, but I don't expect to see any sales until the FCC's expire. It's frustrating that I won't be able to book anything close to a comparable cruise with my FCC.
verizon Posted December 16, 2020 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2020 Celebrity needs to sell a lot of cabins to IA customers to cover all those non profit from S&L customers.

TeeRick Posted December 16, 2020 #7 Share Posted December 16, 2020 Celebrity wave season? I think it is more like wave goodbye to most of the 2021 season.
sydbarrett Posted December 18, 2020 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2020 Now I can't remember where I read it, but I read an article which stated that Celebrity *is* going to have an offer for wave season, but the details haven't been released yet. I think it said around mid-January. No idea what that will look like!
ChucktownSteve Posted December 18, 2020 Author #9 Share Posted December 18, 2020 "Always included"? 🤣 1
kathynorth Posted December 19, 2020 #10 Share Posted December 19, 2020 I believe Celebrity's wave season offer is AI combined with the flat rate airfare through Flights by Celebrity and the 5/10% discount for CC members, plus the double CC points.
