I usually go to Europe once a year doing tours and cruises - to relax after the tours. I have had so many cruises cancelled this year and last year as a lot of us have so I am looking forward to some great trips in the future! pully8 Posted March 4, 2021 #10 Share Posted March 4, 2021 Sounds interesting have done several river cruises. Will have a look. Re the lower level cabins, some like them especially on trips in winter with short days. River levels can be an issue high/low but ok as long as you are prepared for the possible changes or cancelled trips.

Or it could be a very expensive coach tour as some have found out with river level issues.
pully8 Posted March 6, 2021 #12 Share Posted March 6, 2021 Yes well documented. However it is a lovely way to travel when things go as to plan. Looking at the Murray cruise again at present. Someone mentioned a small boat cruise from Echuca, again priced to reflect the small number of people and cabins. Good to have options. Another issue is the fact that small boats with steep steps may be difficult to impossible for some people who may otherwise enjoy cruising which is a shame. Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted March 6, 2021 #13 Share Posted March 6, 2021 On Proud Mary they managed OK as long as they could manage the steps but those that need wheelchairs, scooters or walking frames would be out of luck. We changed cabins with one lady who had mobility problems so she was on the same deck as the dining room.
