Theme cruises

I learned that in Jan, 2022, the Sky Princess is hosting large music themed cruises, 3 weeks in a row.  Rock & roll, Polka and Irish.  We were on the Polka cruise last year and they closed Take 5 and the Vista

Lounge every night.  This made for other entertainment venues to be overly crowded. Not a great experience.

I booked Feb 5, 2022 and I'm now wondering if I made a mistake.

Does anyone knows of any large groups that might be on this cruise.  I searched that date and found nothing.

Suggest you find another cruise. There are not enough lounges on the Sky to host closed events, even if the groups are small, as well as other guests.

We’re not booked on any of those large group cruises sailing in January.  I learned from last year.  I’m trying to find if any large groups would be on our February 5th cruise

Google the date and name of the ship and any large group bookings should show up

We have had much more problem with smaller groups 50 -100 people then larger groups.  Yes the larger groups sometimes take up a venue but at least most of their events are scheduled.  We were on the Regal with 5 or 6 smaller groups and it was a zoo.  The aft pool claimed every day by one group. Two or three of them would get up early and claim all the loungers.  Crooners completely taken over by another group almost every evening.  Not organized just every chair taken by the group.

on our Halloween cruise a few years ago ... "that group" had their main cruise the week before, but there were about 200 who were doing a B2B - imagine our surprise when we went to the 'adult only' aft pool and it was completely overtaken

it did make for an 'interesting' Halloween night in the atrium for the costume contest ...

also got 'caught' on a cruise ( not Princess ) where "The Legends of the Steelers" theme had about 750 out of 1500 cruisers - some of the nicest people we have ever met on a cruise ship

I did that. Nothing showed up. Although I did find a website that listed the 3 January theme cruises.  Theme Cruise Finders showed mostly Azamara  cruises.   I can understand why the cruise line won’t tell you about large groups.

I guess we’ve been lucky. 28 Princess cruises and last years cruise was the first.  If we’ve been on with smaller groups, I didn’t notice them.

That might not be accurate news since Azamara is no more

The ships and their bookings were sold by RCL to another company which will continue to sail the ships under the Azamara name.
