Of the 6 family members we have sailing for our October cruise, 4 were  offered it, 2 were not.  The two newbies were not, but the 4 of us that have cruised more had.  2 were gold, 1 was platinum, and 1 was diamond.

And everyone that it was offered to probably never bought Cheers before. I have purchased it on all 4 of my cruises on Carnival dating back to 2013 on the Breeze.  Cheers itself started in 2012 on the Liberty.

Obviously the algorithm did not give it to me.

If I already have a cruise that's paid off in Sept and Jan, could I call and add the cheers to you deal?

Do you have the cheers offer in your offers? Have you looked at the price and it's ok with you?

I booked way last sept but only a few months was able to add it because the price doubled, then dropped back to what I paid so I was able to price match to get it.

Great question, I do have the deal. Would need to do some math to see if it's worth it. OT, I see my room is cheaper now, if I called, would they offer anything?

How much extra is it with cheers? Price it out. If are are before final payment you can get the lower price, or the cheers price if it's worth it to you. Mine didnt drop, just exactly what I paid but it was a little extra with cheers. Yes do the math.

I was asking a similar question earlier on this topic. The way I see it, stock up whenever you pass a bar or place that has bottled water, cans of soda, or energy drinks. Stock them in your room so you don't have to do it too often when you just want to chill in the room for a little while.

My now first cruise is on the Lido deck. I don't think I will have to do much stocking in the room fridge. Just 100' from the room I can get a drink very easily.

I thought that they opened the drinks and poured them into glasses if you had BB or Cheers. Is that not true or would it depend on how well you have tipped?

If you get it at a bar, they will pour it into a glass.  You can get a full can easily on the newer ships like the Vista, Horizon and Panorama at the self serve take out at the coffee bar.  I assume it will be the same on the two Excel ships.

The excel ships have a soda machine. 26 cents a oz? Some price by the oz.

Though I'm sure the bars will have soda too.

Suites on mardi gras get free bubbles.

I have only bought cheers on two of my cruises - out of 21- and I never saw this offer. When did the offer start appearing?  I am not always checking cruises and prices...maybe I missed it. I am however getting casino drinks on us offers.

Most of these offers were under the RU1, RU2, and RU3 fare codes. The RU1 is the best. While these codes increase your fare price, you can easily price check and compare mock bookings to see your costs. Guests were getting Cheers with various discounts, some super low cost but even $20 or $25-30/day make it a great value. The RU9 code is basically worthless.

These offers can be viewed on the site under Today's Deals when you log in with your VIPF number. The casino drinks, "everywhere" is great but "while playing in the casino" has its limitations.

My assumption was regarding the coffee shops on the Excel ships having the same self serve capacity regarding canned soda at the coffee shop that is available on the Horizon.  I did see that the MG will have self serve fountain soda in the buffet, good for kids, I will not use it.  The occasional sugar free Pepsi I drink will be obtained by full can only.

I don't understand their algorithm's either.  Sometimes they just don't make sense at all.

Example:  We have never gotten a casino offer even though we usually play a bit at the slots at least every other cruise (over 40 so far).  My dad who cruises with us once a year, now all of a sudden gets them.  He plays in the casino, but like us a little bit here and there and only slots.  He started getting them after his cruise in 2018 and he spent maybe $200 total in the casino on slots that cruise (so I know it isn't because he spent a crap load and they want him back) - we have spent more than that for sure on a trip.

Like I said, no rhyme or reason.

That is my plan. I have an email to my PVP waiting a callback as I type.  Since we always buy the Bottomless Bubbles package, our net is about 2.00 per day more for the Cheers2you rate.

I just thought of a new twist in the Cheers4You package. My thinking is that it will not be a stepping stone for most people to purchase cheers, but it is a stepping stone to a "new normal" for many cruisers. We buy bottomless bubbles and rarely purchase a drink besides what is included. With the Cheers4You package we will be getting mocktails, shakes, coffees, etc.  That will now be the normal for cruises...  a mocktail a day, specialty coffee, etc.  So that might have lead to more bar purchases for us in the future because that is what we have accustomed ourselves to as part of the cruise experience.   BUT we are frugal cruisers so it will not be hard for us to go back to no $$extra drinks so will be nice to have the extras for those cruises.

Not exactly sure how but my wife just scored Cheers for our upcoming Pride cruise for a total of $178!  That's a hell of a lot better than the $858 it would've normally cost.  They're going to lose money on us this cruise 😆

haha!  Great score!  Have a great cruise! I'm sure you will now!
