Buying liquor for your room

This. It used to be that if you pre-ordered it you didn't pay a delivery fee/tip, now you do. The disadvantage for ordering through room service is that you need to be in you cabin when it is delivered. We pre-order for that reason.

Can we both a.) pre-order two bottles for our room and, b.) order two more bottles from room service later on in the cruise?

 

If so, I'd consider not getting Cheers (realizing that it would be a hassle though)

I believe the limit applies to room service orders as well (and it may apply to both, so if you order 2 from Fun Shops before hand you can't buy another one onboard, but I've never bought more than one so I don't know. I'm waiting to see if anyone answers the question in post 31).

I don't know of any reason why not, but if there is, get a neighbor to order for you and reimburse them on delivery.

Why is there a two bottle limit for Fun Shop? If we have a clear, definitive answer for that then it might shed light on the question. (I have seen a lot of educated guesses, but none of us works for Carnival in the area where this rule was made so none of us know with 100% certainty.)

 

(And the only reason that I know that this is available through room service is because I've read it here, nothing about it on their website or on the ship, so it's not something they are publicizing at all.)

I know it was true of the Magic. I researched happy hour pretty heavily for my cruise that was ultimately cancelled. IIRC, they were actually offering it every day according to a YouTube review I watched. My plan was to buy and store in my room instead of getting drink package. This is definitely not true for most ships. On the one cruise that I recall a happy hour on, it was just the Casino bar on like 3 or 4 drinks, and it was only until like 2 on embarkation day. That was the Carnival Victory, which has since been rebranded.

All products sold containing alcohol have a limit of two products per booking

 

Still haven't found anything that says that I can't order more bottles from room service.  🙂

We might need an English major to parse out why there's no comma after the mention of liquor - Does that mean that liquor and wine can be purchased by the bottle with a two per day limit?  Or, is the two bottle per day limit only for wine and liquor is "by the individual drink"?

My guess is a number of reasons including limit legal liability and trying to maximize alcohol sales from all sources.

Two per day is what I thought it was. Two on pre-order (for first day) and then order two additional per day, per stateroom, via room service. Seems like a reasonable limit for liquor (two liters per day) though the wine should be upped to four or six per day, per stateroom. Two bottles of wine for a couple or small group isn't very much at all for an entire day/night. I guess they figure you could just order more bottles at dinner?

It isn't hard to get more that two bottles of wine a day. Buy a wine package and save money in the process. Exchange all the ticket for bottles of wine and take them back to the cabin.

My wife says that I always order bottles of liquor for the room and to take home but I don't remember any of that.

Anything that you order that has alcohol has a 2 per day limit.

I would buy the bottles that were being taken home from the duty free shop, much more reasonably priced.

If you order a bottle to room, how strict are they on no public consumption?  As long as we keep it in a insulated cup will We be ok or will they be actively looking for that kind of thing?  My thought is we would make a drink in cabin and maybe bring a flask for refill on deck so we don’t have to go bAck to room constantly. If they do see it will They just make us dump it or are there more aggressive penalties?
