Son?  SON IS THAT YOU??? We haven't talked in years!  How are you?  How is the monkey doing?

Oh no my dad moved to Arkansas and went from a one bedroom apartment to a new 3 bedroom house for half the price.

Thanks. All I can think about are the things I didn't get....like the bridge...and the crew bar. 😀 I do wish I would've captured the MDR menu each night though.

After my voyage I found I had food and bar menus all over the place in my unorganized, ad hoc posts so I created a new thread to pull at least the MDR menus together.  All screenshots from the Hub App while onboard:

Greg,

What did you decide is the best way to tip the bar staff? Cash or adding to the receipt? I was always under the impression they would rather have cash but maybe times have changed. I would prefer not to to be carrying around singles to hand out a couple or so every time we get drinks. Does adding to the receipt get as much attention as handing over cash?

Thanks

Once I got my S&S card I wrote them all in until the tip I left for Maria at the end. If you write it in it definitely goes in their account. I had a bartender once tell me that. Then I had the time at alchemy when Kat and Milan their first day together were discussing how to handle my cash tips. At the tiki bar they have a green bucket they put the cash tips into. I assume they split them. Now at alchemy I saw a guy slip Jason a 20 and he smoothly put it in his pocket. There’s nothing wrong with the cash tip. Definitely didn’t seem like there were as many as they used to be. I’m going to continue writing them in because it’s easier and I know it goes to the person I want it to.

Testing....is this thing on?? Been trying to comment on your thread forever! Enjoyed your review as always, friend! And props for saying that you try to keep politics out of your reviews, as I do the same. We may all differ when it comes to our opinions about our  government, but one thing that unites us is our decision to Choose Fun. Looking forward to your next review!

We have OBC and plan on using all of it. Did you have any left over that you were able to get back or did you use all of yours. I do not really care if we do not get any used amount but some are saying you cannot get any back if it is left over. Thank you

I used it all. I’ve heard people say things about cashing OBC out in slot machines or buying carnival gift cards at the cherry on top. But I’ve never done any of it. Next cruise (oct 23rd panorama) is going to be challenging. I’m going to have around 1k in OBC. So if ever there was a time I couldn’t use it all that will will be it. I’m going to try though.

Holy heck. Once they started refueling you aren’t allowed to use mobile devices on outside decks and it was like they blocked my internet. Then 1:30 I finally get in my room so I can get My folio and use my ship wifi. Then cc starts saying my account is locked and try back in 15 minutes. That never happens. I’ve been dealing with that for over an hour. Finally I reset my password..to exactly what it was and it let me in

Is this something about risk with LNG fueling?  Or is it a policy on every cruise ship?  I think I've only cruised once since I had a smartphone but I don't remember any rule like this.  Can you use it indoors?  Apologies if I missed the answer to this in pages 23 to 100.

It seemed to be a LNG fueling thing. No smoking or use of electronic devices on open decks while refueling which they said would take all the way up until sailaway.

Indoors is fine.

@Saint Greg if they haven't changed it since COVID (and I haven't heard that they have!) you can cash in any OBC by going to the casino at some point, put whatever amount on your casino account that you want to withdraw, play a spin or two on the slot machine then go to the casino cashier to cash out your casino account.

Many on this site have said it HAS been changed in the casino AND they can no longer use OBC to buy Carnival gift cards in the Cherry on Top store to use for future cruise deposits.

I can see this being the case with Carnival giving so much OBC. They sure do not want to have so many cashing out the free money to use later.

Saint Greg looking at the menu. I thought the pork chop was gone on the new free Mardi Gras Menu ?

I am not certain but I believe I read some other posters stating the big Tomahawk pork chop that used to be on the menu has been replaced with more of a modest-sized garden variety pork chop on this included MG menu.

Have you purchased Cheers yet? If not, maybe wait until you’re on the ship to buy it and use up a good chunk of the OBC. But I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that, you have way more experience crusing than I do 😀

OBC is going to pay for cheers, internet, gratuities, excursions, specialty restaurants, etc. Even with that I think I came up with a scenario where I would have over 100 left. Of course I wasn't counting writing in tips so that would probably knock that out.
