Jsdyro Posted October 21, 2021 #377 Share Posted October 21, 2021 Sailing Date: 9/ 25 /22 Date you were moved: 9/24/2021 Allure Cabin Category: 2br Grand Suite Wonder Cabin Category: 1br spacious aqua theatre suite Thrilled! Especially reading all of the unfortunate downward moves. It’s just my wife and I on this cruise and the only reason we booked the 2br GS was because it was the same price as the 1br. Loved the idea of having the extra bathroom but I’ll gladly trade it for the ATS and that balcony. 2
Baowen Posted October 21, 2021 #378 Share Posted October 21, 2021 Still waiting for my TA sailing cabin assignment but I do have to agree that I am thrilled to be transferred from the Allure to the Wonder for the same price! I'm sure they will get it all worked out by November which is still 5-6 months before the April TA. Beth

We were affected on the April Allure TA beeing downgraded from crown loft suite to junior suite. I canceled that cruise and also the other two which were b2b. We will use our FCC on a different Allure sailings plus a casino free cruise and that’s it. I am also not going to gamble a single dollar on these cruises. I usually would now start planning cruises for 2023, but not anymore. Me and my partner are still pissed at royal for intentionally screwing up our well planned travel itineraries and not offering decent alternatives! 👎 That sour feeling will stick.

For what’s it’s worth, I think you made the right decision in cancelling the downgraded cruise, as hard as that choice may have been. What other cruise lines do you sail with?

What other cruise lines do you sail with? We are still doing two cruises on Allure next year to use the FCCs, but then it´s going to be land based trips. We are looking at Thailand, hiking in Austria, driving through Italy, Australia. As far as other cruise lines, I always wanted to try Cunard / QM, but we are probably too young for that (around 40). But still looking at it 🙂 The most comparable to Royal is probably NCL. Maybe we give them a shot.

But, when it comes to vacation, if I’m unhappy, I do something else. There are plenty of Royal Caribbean cheerleaders here to balance things out. This is not the first time that Royal has forced us to change our plans, but this reassignment from Allure to Wonder is by far the most egregious. To begin with, there are very few Oasis class transatlantics to choose from, and there are not many other ships that offer the same accommodations (including Crown Loft type suites), so there are few options for a similar experience. Also, because the suites sell out early, these cruises must be planned far in advance, so when things change (and that is always a risk) it may be too late to get something else comparable in the same time frame. And it is often too late to book other types of vacations too, depending on when and where. To add insult, we had a really, really good price on Allure for the CL, and it's unlikely that will happen again, so another comparable cruise will likely be more expensive. Royal has had IT issues for years. Just the other day I called and was told the reservation system was down. It seems like most times I call the agents put me on extended holds while they figure things out. And even though I canceled this cruise several days ago it is still showing as booked (even though I was assured it is in the process of being canceled). There is clearly room for improvement. I am happy for those who came out above water on this one. Wish I had been similarly situated. But if Royal can't be trusted with our long-term vacation plans (while holding substantial deposits), then perhaps it's time to either say goodbye or stick to planning last-minute cruises, which is what we used to do, rather than pinning our plans to future vacations. We usually have excellent on-board experiences, which is why we return, but things like this will make us rethink our future plans with Royal. As I see it, there is something wrong with it, which is that last-minute choices are much more limited and sometimes much more expensive. But it might be our default posture for the time being. Not that I could book the world tour cruise, but if I could I would still be worried about the situation in 2024 enough to have a plan B in place. Bob_Houston Posted October 23, 2021 #388 Share Posted October 23, 2021 The vast majority of the customers moved from Allure to Wonder are getting a great deal - sailing on the new Wonder - in the same cabin - at the lower Allure price. At most 28 full suite customers were downgraded multiple levels to JS. Those customers that had OS and GS (except for two) were moved into the same cabins - in the new Suite Neighborhood - at the Allure price. And for non-suite passengers, except for a small number of customers with relatively unusual situations (back-to-back, connecting cabins, ...) - they were moved to comparable cabins on the Wonder - at the Allure price. So it's only a very small number of reservations for each sailing that were adversely impacted by the poorly implemented transition process. For most customers, once the dust settles - they'll come out ahead if they keep their new reservations on the Wonder. But for the 32% of their full suite customers downgraded from full suites to JS, paying more for their cabins - unless they change their offers for the downgraded cabins (which seems unlikely), they're going to end up losing some of those customers. Sad but true about full suite downgrades -- moved from Two-Bedroom Grand Suite to a Junior Suite, which is quite the difference 😟

Having 3 or 4 adults in a JS, compared to a 2 bedroom GS, isn't close to a replacement - especially if they are asking you to pay the 2 bedroom GS price for the JS... Billy Baltic Posted November 2, 2021 #391 Share Posted November 2, 2021 I believe tomorrow is the revised deadline for the reassigned cabins. We’re partially moved from Allure to Wonder. Anyone else the same?
plutosmom Posted November 3, 2021 #392 Share Posted November 3, 2021 We were moved ‘overnight’ - we are currently on the Harmony TA heading back to the US, so about 6 hours ahead of EST. Until this morning, our Cruise Planner showed only a Cancelled Allure cruise with the old dates. WONDER Eastbound Transatlantic, 4/20/22:ALLURE: OS, Cabin #10640 WONDER: OS, Cabin #1836 We have not received an email regarding the re-assignment; we are booked with a travel agent. However, the re-assignment is shown on our list of cruises when I sign into our Royal Caribbean account. Good luck to everyone!

They gave me the cabin number on the second cruise weeks ago but the first cruise showed cancelled in the last few days on my planner account I have been allocated the number of the first cabin, same category on same deck but rooms are quite a distance from each other. I booked the original Allure b2b in same stateroom I could of paid less to let them choose my rooms! My agent as still not informed me of the allocations she last emailed 2 weeks ago to ask for patience! Not too happy about moving rooms but have done it before, think this hasn’t been handled too well!
long4acruise Posted November 3, 2021 #394 Share Posted November 3, 2021 * W Med, 10/23/22:ALLURE: OV Bal #8252 WONDER: OV Bal #8252 * Westbound TA, 10/30/22: ALLURE: GS #8254 WONDER: GS #1700 On our B2B sailings, originally in an OV balcony on the 1st leg right next door to our GS on the 2nd leg (east move!). Now we have to "climb" a little higher to move, but it's ok as we kept the same cabin categories and happy with the protected pricing! The GS were sold-out when we decided to add-on the 7N port-intensive sailing.

Would of been better to have had same person looking after us and bit less bother on change over but hey after the last 20 months of cancellations etc, it is what it is.
