Moving a cruise 2 weeks out in January 2022 not possible?

Have Symphony booked for 1/15/2022. Got the e-mail yesterday saying that they may miss ports, have no shows, etc. so I thought about pushing it out to the 1/29/2022 sailing to give it an extra couple of weeks to sort out. I booked through the casino and I called them this morning. They cannot move the cruise. They would have to cancel it and issue a FCC within 30 days. Could not move any of that on the new cruise until it gets issued. Clearly this doesn't work without out me paying for another cruise and then waiting for Royal to give me my money back on the first one.

Any other options or ideas?

casino bookings don't seem to be as flexible.  Unfortunately I think you are stuck either sailing or taking the FCC

As the mutual fund prospectus says, historical returns don't guarantee future ones - in two weeks some other headline may have you moving the sailing yet again. Either go on you existing sailing, or move it way out, like several months.

2 weeks would give enough time to see how this plays out. If it is still the same then I would want to then move it several months out.

Right now we just have the information from the Christmas week sailing and the letter from Royal to go on.

Move it Months from Now, 2 weeks isn't going to be any different as far as being better time to cruise.

Was your cruise booked thru a casino offering that was date specific?   If so, then they will Not move it and you will have to take the FCC.

If you simply booked a non-casino offer thru the casino to get the casino discount they usually allow you to move those but sometimes do restrict the sailings you can move to.

I have many other cruises booked so I would like to keep it in this timeframe if possible.

2 Weeks more give me 29 days to decide vs 15 🙂

They did offer to give me 100% of my money back without penalty so I have that option too.

Not a casino booking, but just yesterday I moved a Feb 4 Anthem cruise to an October Allure cruise, kept the same booking number and just moved my FCC/deposit $$$ with no trouble.  The C&A agent was talking to herself as she did it and it sounded like being outside final deposit (due Jan 4) was one of the things that made it possible to just transfer the booking rather than cancel and rebook.

Not sure but I think it was date specific. I have many offers so I do have a casino rate that would be good for the one 2 weeks out too but not sure if it is the same one or not.

Are you saying 100% refund via FCC or actual money back?    If actual money back, take it!

Casino typically does not charge a penalty, at least they haven't on any of our casino cruises that we cancelled.

Call back Club Royale back and get a different casino rep and you may get a different answer

Probably non-refundable. This one actually started out on Harmony before Covid and got cancelled on us a few times by the pause. Then we ended up getting transferred to Symphony because Harmony was going to Europe or something like that.

100% back to my original form(s) of payment ... so money

Not sure how much the FCC would be but likely NOT 125% or anything like that just 100% on that too

That's good they offered to refund. We're on Symphony Jan 8 and I'm on hold with Royal now. They can't get us checked in and the agent told me this is a common problem. We tried reloading the app and working through it but no go. So the advice is to just show up at the terminal and plead for mercy (show screenshots of the app as proof it doesn't work).

Still on hold waiting for resolutions on another cruise. Things are not going well for them right now.

The fcc would be the cruise fare you paid if you upgraded your cabin from original offer and the port taxes/fees would be refunded to your credit card.

If you know for sure you won't go on 1.15 then I would take the cash refund now as that could change.   Policies are constantly changing.

Maybe it is a sign that you are not meant to check in for the Jan 8th sailing🤔

There have been many such signs. I am being a fool for ignoring them. I guess I'm in the mood for punishment. If things get much worse before we leave then I may still cancel. Or maybe just spend a week in Miami. I need a vacation. lol

Eeesh.  Symphony has been a total s**tshow the last couple of sailings, and I would not be confident the next few would be any better.

I might consider cancelling for the refund, even if you have to wait for it and can't rebook right away.

I agree which is why we want to push it out a little to see if the situation improves. A lot can happen in a fairly short time.

I'm definitely considering taking the refund outright as I don't seem to have any other good options.

From what I have been reading I don't think 2 weeks will make a difference.  You may be better off canceling and waiting until March

Unfortunately, nobody knows.

I think we're all veering away from the original point of the thread. Royal says you can reschedule (in the e-mail) but didn't stipulate it had to be many months out. It doesn't seem to reschedule just a couple of weeks out in the future.
