Prime at casino?

For those of you that are Prime at the casino, do you still buy the drink package or not so much anymore? We don't spend a ton of time in the casino but hit prime for the first time. My wife and I always get the drink package even though we're diamond and get the 4 free. Trying to decide if we can forgo the drink package going forward and get by with just the 4 each and the drinks for me in the casino so it sounds like she doesn't get them since it's just me that's prime.

Also, has anyone taken advantage of the discounted internet package? Is it much cheaper than normal and I'm assuming you can't purchase until onboard?

The best way to parlay your benefits is:  use your diamond drinks each, use your free drinks in casino and get a sea class suite to get your drinks in the suite lounge.  These suite lounge drinks are for both of you and they do not count against your diamond vouchers.  To make things better get your wife to qualify for prime as well as yourself so you both get the drinks in the casino.  You will both also get your yearly free cruises to use starting April 1st. You also do not have to pay fees in the casino to move money around from your on board credit...

Sea class does not have access to the suite lounge.

Since I just hit prime, is it good for a year now? I'm just thinking, some cruises we don't play as much in the casino as others.. I'm assuming I could still just run down to the bar there, get a drink and head out and play very little throughout the week but the status carries for the year similar to land casinos?

Yes, you will have Prime status through 3-31-23 and from 4-1-22 you will be accumulating point for the 2023-2024 year.

When on Royal, we are all Prime or above.  We (3) are also D+.  I do spend much of my time in the casino when it is open and will drink at the tables.  We also use the D+ drinks occasionally at a show or meal.  I do not believe any of us has ever used all of the D+ drinks.  We have never bought any drink package other than the soda pkg.  And never went thirsty.  As far as internet access, we make use of the 2 free accesses via my Masters status at the casino.
