Is RC going to be doing Glacier Bay now?

I just heard today that Canada is only allowing 100% vaccinated ships to port in Canada this season. Almost all ships are 95% so who knows if 2022 Alaska is going to happen. Maybe they’ll get another exemption to skip stopping in Canada?

The port schedule is out for Vancouver for 2022 and so it seems like Alaska is a go for sailing out of there.

Minor inconvenience for those sailing out of Seattle round trip.  Easy to miss Vancouver as a technical port stop.  Not so easy for those doing one way trips out of, or to Vancouver.  Not sure if Seattle has the capacity to absorb all those ships that were sailing from Vancouver in addition to the ships already ported there.  Not to mention everyone having to change hotels and flights or running a lot of shuttles

But the cruise lines would have to get an exemption again from the US Passenger Services Vessels Act to skip the stop in Canada.

We're booked for the Serenade RT out of Vancouver Sept 2022....and was hoping that since the port schedule came out we would know for certain. How much longer until we'll know for sure...any idea?

With sailings starting in May I would imagine sometime late March or April

I loved my Alaska cruise and would go back again in a heartbeat. Seattle is an easy port with generally cheaper hotels and airfare than Vancouver. The port fees and taxes on these sailings are quite high though. Lots of bargain fares to be had though.

Saw this add on social media today. Didn’t think RC did glacier bay. Clicking on the ad didn’t give any information about cruises going to glacier bay specifically.

Just to answer the original question and not Covid related Canada stop issues: No, Royal did not use the Glacier Bay licenses and decided not to go to Glacier Bay in 2021-2023.

We have an Alaskan cruise in June and have a stop in Victoria, BC. Wonder what they would do if we can't stop. Stay another day at Juneau or Skagway? Or perhaps add a stop elsewhere?

Last year, on the Ovation, they added Sitka.

Matt on the Royal Caribbean Youtube channel says cruises WILL be able to stop in Canada. The requirement is for those over 12 to be fully vaccinated so that puts that to rest.

Op-sorry for thread jacking....

Not sure how the rules effect east coast cruises heading north or the transatlantic heading west in the fall. We have a Halifax stop scheduled for our October TA on the Anthem.   So it's not just Alaska cruises affected.

Source to any actual information that supports this other than because Matt says.

That cruise could easily drop Halifax though without having it violate the PVSA.  The NE/Canada cruises and the Alaska cruises need an exemption.

Agree. And anything could happen between now and the late August sailings.

Aren't the major Alaska lines HAL and Princess 100% vaxed only?

I'm booked on HAL for May and it's fully vaxed only for HAL
