Uograde to Premium Beverage Package not worth the money

Ok, I’m onboard Beyond right now.
having been on the inaugural (and complained about the poor provisioning), it looks like supply issues are easing, but brands are changing.

Instead of Don Julio, they’re now offering Teramana tequila which may be more premium.

The Grigch hills wines are back in stock, and Heidesieck Monopole Blue Top champagne is available in the premium package.

things are getting better.

Hope the Monopole Blue is available on Equinox when we sail in July!  Cheap Chandon was the only champagne in May.

Yeah, that’s not champagne. If you’re offered Cattier, that’s also very good champagne too. Had that on Apex last year

Really appreciate this report.  I certainly expected they might swap brands to address supply chain issues.

On the Eclipse currently. Finding things such as 20 year old Taylor Fladgate which is $14 in the Celebrity app are still subject to a $7 extra charge even though I have the premium package. Celebrity has been disappointing this way.

Sell cruises with All in and then not deliver. Shame on Celebrity and their suppliers.  There’s lots of good wine available.  Wine was one of the few things that I never found in short supply.   What’s next?  Check in and don’t sail. Gas supply low?  If you sell drinks included,  have the drinks available.

Update.  On Summit now. Wine on classic plan is good.  Liked the Malbec.  Bar drinks vary in size, availability, and liquor content.  Best bar is Sunset. Worst is pool deck.  Often bars run out of liquor. No Canadian club in Sky lounge?  Was told sorry none on ship. Next day, got it in Rendezvous Lounge.  Crew is overwhelmed and won’t go to get more stock.
All in internet usually doesn’t work. I use my Captains club minutes. In port I used my phone.

Are you discussing this discrepancy with onboard staff and management???

That's what I found on the Eclipse in May during my 11 night Hawaii cruise.  They took the easy way out and were offering basic package wines when they ran out of Premium. Even at the Casino bar I asked for Villa Maria and bar staff member said he'd have to go look for it elsewhere.

People should start requesting a refund of their upgrade if premium wines and spirits are not available.  Afterall that is why we upgrade.  Or request a refund for each drink down from the premium package rate to the classic rate.  Like they would charge up if it were the other way from Classic up to premium.

Anyone currently on Millennium and can tell me what kind of champagne they have? Was recently on Reflection and it was hard to come by. There were many people upset in the MDR. We were able to hear one man yelling throughout the dining room! We were able to find champagne in the casino, but not the MDR. It was crazy. If paying for the upgrade to get champagne, that is what I would like

Will mention it on the exit survey. Been pretty disappointed with our sommelier. I miss Yan from years back, she was a pro!

Confused????  Why would you not mention a basic pricing discrepancy at the time and place that you see it?

Because at the time I am more interested in enjoying my supper than arguing about price of booze.

Even I, who typically drink the same brand of bourbon regularly, can find a substitute from the bar if necessary while on vacation. I consider myself picky, but not obsessive. I think I can manage if my ship doesn’t have my preferred brand..I have more important things to obsess over than what taste buds will be stimulated while getting buzzed.

There’s always Maker’s Mark.  i drink it so it must be good.  I heard it was voted best bourbon by 15 year olds that drink it behind the school bleachers.

Totally understand what zitsky is saying, if you complain at the time there is a chance for the staff on board to address an issue.

Veinless, totally understand this too. Holidays are too precious to waste in arguments. However, there is another option. Draft a quick note or ask for and complete a comments card at Customer Services. They are a great way to praise good service and also to express disappointment/concern in a constructive way.

15 year olds would not be drinking Maker’s Mark in the first place as it is 50-100% more expensive than the Jim Beam or Jack Daniel’s that they DO buy to mix with their Coke/Diet Coke/Red Bull to imbibe behind the bleachers. Trust me, no 15 year old drinks any spirit neat ( and they don’t drink coffee black either).

You’re right.  I was wrong.  They were drinking Macallan 25.  I read it on the internet so it must be true.

Everything on the internet is partially true...

BTW, how is the wine/liquor supply in your area? I live in a small town so wine is scarce but liquor choices are good...

I am about to place another order so we will see. A few months ago I couldn’t get Macallan 12 so I bought Glenfiddich and some Japanese whiskey.  I don’t normally drink expensive whiskey but if I’m desperate I could ask for some Macallan 25.  There are few sales so I bet they have some in the back.

My wine store is always out of stock of something.  So I am used to ordering wine B if I can’t get wine A.  And I have a wine club membership every quarter from a place in central California.

It will be a real shock to get on board if I order the $15 glass of wine and get the $5.

when most things I drank started to become hard to find a few years ago, I sucked it up and began stockpiling. Not a ton, just  enough to ensure I never ran out of my favorite bourbons, wines and tequila. It’s served me well these past few years when things are even more scarce and my consumption has…..shall we just say…increased a bunch.

What beer brands are available on the Classic?  Didn't see those listed in the post comparing the two drink packages.

Left column is 'Classic', right is 'Premium', you can also see the list in each bar on the app, as not all brands are readily available in all bars.
