  • My wife and I considering doing a TA on the Connie next year. If we purchase cruise only what type of drinks would be available daily to us. For instance,
  • on Royal we would get 5 drinks per person.per day. Our last Celebrity cruise was on the Edge and we had the Always package, but we are considering just getting the cruise only. Any info would be appreciated? Thanks

You will only get the Elite Happy Hour 5-7 pm free drinks.

We were told last summer by the Captain’s Club Host, that there are some Premium drinks included on the list.

However, as Elite + you will also be able to attend the Elite breakfast, where Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s & speciality coffees are also available.

Not quiet you get bloody Mary's, and some other wine/champagne and lattes/cappuccino/flat white at the Elite breakfast. If you are Elite+ you also all non alcoholic coffees, teas and chocolate in Al Bacio and in every other bar that has the espresso machines.

Also the water during the 5 to 7 slot is unlimited and in unopened cans. If you drink this type of water take  a few to see you through the next day.

We are elite plus. On Summit last week. On past cruises, we loved the Captains club reception each evening before dinner.  Liked the drinks. We did get water or soda to pit in our cabin. We really liked the time in the lounge to relax and be with other loyal Celebrity cruisers.  Chatting with people has always been fun on cruises. Last week, we took our first pandemic cruise.  The Captains club reception is no more. Instead you can just go to any bar and get drinks from 5-7pm.  Sounds the same,  it it isn’t. The bars were crowded.  If we could find seats in the Rendezvous Vous, we would stop and get a drink. Music was good, but loud. Liked Ocean Beat. The chairs are spaced out. Great for pandemic safety.  They were out of many things. Shortages or didn’t restock?  No apple martini?  After being told no to requests several times, we stopped going there. We found that going to other bars more relaxing. Our favorite was the Sunset.  If we went early the guitar player was there.  Nice.  The drinks at Sunset were better than at Rendezvous vous. Sunset bartenders were good at mixing drinks.

Thank you for your inputs, but we we're able to book the Always Package for less than $300 more off of the Cruise only rates for both of us because they gave us a nice Military Discount. Does anyone know where the Elite Breakfast would be on the "Connie"?

We always booked cruises with perk package with premium drinks, OBC and gratuity and Wifi(although hardly used it and Elite and Blue Chip offer minutes).  This time we were offered a comp fare only cruise with just paying taxes and gratuity.  I was concerned not having the drink package would spoil our cruise and it would be annoying having to sign for all drinks we had.  The cost to upgrade to standard drink package was $492/pp or premium was $599/pp.

We had comp drinks in casino including taking water cans back to room and then enjoying drinks at almost all bars between 5-7PM without any problems under Elite offer. Just showed Seapass and then left a tip. Sometimes I would take a wine into MDR.  Obviously we are not big drinkers so this worked for us.  When we were in Sushi on Five or Tuscan Grille we ordered with 20% discount a bottle of saki and a few wines.  The total additional fees for beverages on the cruise was under $150.

Would do it again for sure.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.  We are sailing in August on an 8 night Equinox cruise in a Sky Suite.   We got an amazing rate for a Suite guarantee.  This cruise is WAY cheaper then our last cruise in a regular balcony with the perks included - same ship and same itinerary.  We are also Elite Plus and not huge drinkers.  We have sailed in Suites before so I know we can utilize the Retreat Lounge for drinks but sharing your experience made me feel better about not buying the package.  I will bring a couple of bottles of wine onboard and for the occasional drink we will pay as we go.  I was more concerned about getting bottled water.  Even before the days of "always included" we never had a bar bill more than a couple hundred dollars.  Thanks again!

You do know that drinks are no charge all day and evening in the Retreat Lounge? And you can take them out if you want. I think the bartender is there from about 10 AM until midnight or later if enough customers are in there late.

Are they booked in a suite?

We were not in a suite just a veranda so no access to Retreat.  But the access we had as described worked well for us.  Searching for another offer to use my new strategy again
