"Upper Suite requests"

Good advice above.

Edge Villa specific info:

1) the plunge pool is heated when initially filled, but cools down after a few hours.  Let your room steward know ahead of time when you want to use, and he/she will fill it up for you.

2) thermal suites access is complimentary and you have easy access down the circular staircase from deck 15 directly to the spa entry area on deck 14 (or you could use the regular stairs next to the elevators)

3) there is a private entry from the hallway outside your suite straight to the Retreat lounge...you don't need to enter through the main entrance of the Retreat lounge... very convenient to grab drinks/h'orduvres.  Don't bother with setting up tea time with your butler, as it's more convenient to just pop in the Retreat lounge to grab whatever you want that's not already in your suite fridges (there are two of them)

4) the second floor (the bedroom floor) door to the Retreat sundeck is great and easy for accessing the sundeck, and more importantly, the Retreat sundeck bar where the great bartenders can make cocktails of your choice for you to take back to your suite/private plunge pool to enjoy

Do they charge for galley/bridge tours?

The have a ships tour that is done by few.    Since Covid they have not been doing Galley and Bridge tours.  When they did it was gratis and invitation often based on CC status.  I've also heard that sometimes you can get on the list by request.

I've not cruises since April so they may have resumed.

In R S twice 2017 and 2019, no robes on either  cruise🥲

We are not PJ wearer so usually just leave them behind -  On our last B2B we got a total of 6 pairs.   Some that followed my blog said they would be interested so I left some goodie bags with PJ's, slippers, tote bags etc.

Saying that I did bring one pair with us as we were visiting Iain's sister at the end of the cruise and thought they might be useful since the bathroom is down the hall.     As others say -   they run small.   I would normally wear a Medium and the L/XL fit me perfect.

I did read that the robes were for post revolution ships only . We had robes in RS in February wasn’t interested, my wife likes the pajamas and we got those.

My wife 60 birthday on July 4th on edge was super cool we just asked for appetizers for 6 to 8 and they brought enough food for three times that , we were in penthouse, the entire concierge staff joined us with a bottle of Cabernet and a huge birthday cake , then my wife who never won more than a hundred in any casino won a thousand playing video poker , I had a successful cruise gambling but not as good as my wife. Odds are we will never do a penthouse again (it was a upsell) but it was a blast.

That's the message I was sending.  No charge if you organize it with your butler.  I had a sailaway party for 25 in the PH.

Do they also include free drinks?

The pjs were not available on our last cruise, we were told they had supply issues so don’t build up your hopes too high!

On the Apex the PJs were embroidered with our initials.  On the Edge not and mine was the wrong size.

Anyone ever heard of a program where you can add retreat benefits to an adjoining/linked reservation if your in a upper suite?

Yes, before the pandemic (Summit Penthouse) I received a call asking if I wanted to do so.  I think it was $50 a day, but did not include specialty restaurants.   I declined. One cruise weeks before pandemic (Edge Villa) and two cruises since the pandemic where I had linked reservations (Edge Villa and Summit Penthouse), and no offer.

Do you recall what it did include?

The shoreside Concierge will ask what time you plan on arriving at the port, what size pj's you want and a few other things. The last 2 things on your list will be handled onboard. The biggest items are dining and bar setup but even they can be taken care of on board.

We never got PJ's in a royal suite on the reflecttion in March.  Previous cruise on her got monogrammed bathrobes

Priority boarding, priority luggage tags, Luminae all meals, Retreat areas, reserved theater seating, priority disembarkation with priority luggage tags.  The pre-cruise concierge emailed a list (see the thread that you bumped from 2019). She said they have 10 slots to offer each cruise, she starts at the Penthouses and if there are any left she would offer to RS.  She said sometimes they are gone at the Penthouses level, and some cruises there is no interest.  She said if your reservation is not linked with another, she would not make an offer (sometimes i forget to link).  Since we were in the same car our luggage was tagged together, we checked in together and I paid for Luminae.  I was wrong about the price back then, it was $59 per day per person.

Ok so you can take the robes home if you are in an Upper suite? I had been told before that you couldnt but that was when I was just in a Sky suite.

When X first introduced the robes we were on the Edge in a Sky1 Suite. At the end of the cruise we had a bit of OBC left. We asked our Butler if it was possible to purchase the robes and what would the cost be. He came back, the answer was “yes, $50 per robe".

We said “sold” and  he brought us 2 new robes still in their plastic wrapping. That was the best $100 OBC we ever spent.

The butler provided several bottles of champagne.

Depends on the butler

Another one of those experiences vary things…

I tend to doubt that the butler/PRH has the authority to provide/not provide several bottles of champagne or wine…I tend to think it would need approval from the suite manager. I guess if most guests attending a party have a premium drinks package then there is little difference between the guests being provided drinks in a suite to in a bar…

What type of pillows are offered?  Is there a list on the X website?

I don't ever recall seeing one on the site.  I can't remember if we had a printed one in the room when we arrived or if DW just asked.  I recall feather, synthetic, memory foam, buckwheat, and maybe something else.

I suspect that is true and makes a lot of sense (and I also suspect it depends to some extent on what level suite is asking).

We did a sky suite about 6 years ago and butler asked us if we wanted a second bottle of champagne, don’t recall butler asking us on higher suites .

The reliable inconsistency of ‘additional perks’ add to the difficulty of communicating on CC exactly what to expect when cruising in a suite…All we can all do is differentiate between the ‘official list’ of higher suite perks and then relate our varying experiences.
