We have 8 people going on a cruise together out of Baltimore in November.  All but one person is vaccinated.  It appears the unvaccinated person will not be able to go without an approved exemption under these current protocols.  It is interesting that Oasis out of NJ is approved for unvaccinated but ships from Baltimore are not.  Oh well.. keeping an eye on changes. The unvaccinated person understands he might have to cancel.

You still need a proctored test no more than two days prior if you are visiting Canada or Bermuda.

A photo of a negative rapid test seems to be good for locations that don't require PCR proctored..

The changes are on the website, listed.by sailing port, effective after Sept. 5. However, I don’t see any changes yet in the app, which is still indicating testing needed for a 7 day cruise on Wonder out of Barcelona in mid Sept. Perhaps they just need time to update.

That's not true. Like I say, it's very tricky. Are you clicking on the EXACT place per my screenshot where it says - if YOU SALI ON OR AFTER SEP 5, 2022, THEN CLICK ON ITALY? 

You are required to take the test 3 days before, but self test is accepted - for 10 NIGHTS OT MORE (which transatlantic will fall in this range)

I think there are many places that are still showing conflicting information. An example is in the FAQ. Give it some tine. RCL should be able to correct all of the places to correct in a few days or in the week 🙂

GETTING READY FOR TRANSATLANTIC CRUISES FROM EUROPE TO THE U.S.

Here are the latest protocols for our guests sailing from U.S. to Europe on Transatlantic cruises. Protocols are subject to change and we are committed to keeping you informed if they do. Whenever possible we will provide prior notice for any changes.

Guests traveling into the U.S. from another country should be sure to look into any requirements your own home country may have for exiting or re-entering its borders.

 

Please see below sailings for which protocols are currently available.

Vaccination Requirement

All Royal Caribbean guests, regardless of age, on transatlantic sailings must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with the final dose administered at least 14 days before sailing. Guests who are not vaccinated will not be permitted to board a transatlantic sailing departing from Europe to the U.S.

Each guest’s original vaccine series must include at least two doses of vaccine to board, unless the guest received the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. This is per U.S. CDC guidance, and no exceptions will be made, even if the guest's resident country has authorized a single-shot regimen for a two dose vaccine.

Your vaccine must be approved or authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO) or European Medicines Agency (EMA) to board the ship. 

Guests who are up to date on their vaccination will have more time to complete their pre-cruise test.

To be considered up to date by all European countries we sail to, your vaccination must meet both of the following requirements.

1. You received your most recent vaccine dose no more than 9 months (270 days) ago. This could have been the final dose in your original vaccine series (or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson), or a booster dose.

2. Your most recent vaccine dose is on this list of EMA-approved vaccines:

• Pfizer
• Moderna
• Johnson & Johnson
• AstraZeneca
• Nuvaxovid

A Certificate of Recovery is not acceptable in lieu of a full vaccination for guests of vaccine eligible age.

All crew onboard the ship and at our private destinations are fully vaccinated and receive a booster dose as they become eligible.

Before arriving on boarding day, you’ll need to take a COVID-19 test on your own, at your own expense, to meet boarding requirements.

• Vaccinated guests who are up to date must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days before boarding day. Vaccinated guests who are not up to date will have a 1 day window to take this test.
• Vaccinated guests who are not up to date will have a 1 day window to take this test.

eMed Tests Kits for Travelers
Through our testing partners, U.S.-based vaccinated guests may purchase antigen test kits that you can complete online with a supervised virtual video visit, wherever you are, 24 hours 7 days a week to meet travel testing requirements for cruise or flight. Learn more

Of course RCCL make things that little bit more confusing by now talking about hours before sailing rather than whole days! Will give it a few days and it will be corrected I'm sure. Hoping Greece come on board and testing is dropped altogether for fully vaxxed

The new protocol shows the unvaccinated can sail from NJ on the Oasis.  We are sailing in December from NJ on the Anthem with the exact same ports of call.  I wonder why Oasis is ok to sail the unvaccinated but Anthem is not.  Hoping this will change soon.

Maybe they will insist on seeing the timestamp of the photo, although that might be too technical for some people to find.

 

Still, it's possible to keep an old test around and just keep retaking a picture of it. Yucky, but possible.

Hoping this is correct but in the upper box ( where you have Rome) there is a specific option for European TAs. I don’t think this has been updated yet as it only mentions Voyager which leaves before the 9/5 change date.
