What do people do about tipping for drinks if you get the drinks everywhere package from the casino?

I don't get the Cheers package, and only pay for about 3 or 4 drinks per cruise. I tip an extra $5 in cash per drink. I was wondering, though, how do I go about getting my free platinnum drink if I don't want to eat the sea day brunch, just get my drink and run to the Lido deck. Is there a long wait/line or an area where I can simply grab my drink and run?

Just go to the host and ask at the podium

We never get the drink packages unless free (on Holland America) but we always tip $1 for every drink we order. The crew appreciates it and they tend to look for us just when we need another drink. I usually get free drinks in the casinos and tip there also.

I have a habit of tipping a dollar per drink, and I get the Cheers package (or the "whatever they call it" package on other lines) I also usually tip the bartenders that I frequent a $20 at some point during the cruise, just because.

Tip early and tip often with Free Drinks Everywhere.  The bartenders and servers are taking care of us... it's our responsibility to take care of them. Yes, we spend a large sum in the casino to earn this comp, but the bartenders and servers have no skin in that game. Tip til it hurts!!!!

I always tip a dollar for a drink anywhere on the ship, even when I'm paying for each drink.  On our last cruise, I had bloody marys for breakfast (casino free) and tipped a buck for each.  I couldn't keep that server away from me and he started bringing them without me asking.  He made a lot and so did Carnival Casino.  That was one EXPENSIVE cruise, but memorable.
