Sky and Discovery were bad but the Enchanted was worse on the nights I was there. There must be something about those ships

Too bad they can’t put glass sliding doors on the entry side to the Piazza levels.

Smoke wouldn’t be flowing all the time into the Piazza levels.

Probably a bad design of ventilation. It’s a shame on these new ships, should be better ventilation.

There is a dry dock scheduled for this year as well as 2024, but you are completely right - the deck plan  update is for 2024. There’s no indication of any of the changes we are all hearing about.

Are you sure there is a drydock in 2024? Just because they show two floor plans that doesn’t usually mean there will be a drydock but rather just some adjustments to the category levels of some of the cabins in my experience.

Allison from Let's Go Travel Tips had mentioned last week that her customers onboard Enchanted had heard the dry dock changes included changing the name of Gigi's to Alfredo's (why? don't know) and expanding it's seating area as well.  Removing Salty Dog Gastropub and replacing it (some others think with Vines) and finishing 360 (however 360 apparently is open already - per CD Jody's Instagram).  Older news from Cruise Industry News said Enchanted and Sky are supposed to get the Silverstream Air Lubrication System during the first half of 2023 and since they are booked for back-to-back dry dock visits this may be on the list as well.

I hope this is accurate.  We will be onboard for 26 days in November and we really missed Vines on our recent New Year's cruise on the Discovery.

But, with soooo many rumors going around who knows what will really happen during the dry docks?  🥺

True LACruiser88 - only time will tell.  A simple press release from Princess about something not related to raising prices or adding new packages that loyal long-time passengers don't want anyway would clear up the rumors.  I believe that loyal guest would much rather hear about changes to ships, menus, crews, shows, etc. - all the things that actually impact our vacations directly from Princess rather than through gossip - and save the HEAVY handed sales pitch for newbies.  It's a shame they don't have a magazine for us loyal guests where we could get real information direct from the source...last edition of CC Magazine available digitally through the website was July 2022 - a few things have changed since then.  Or maybe they could embrace modern technology by having a Captain's Circle Blog/Vlog to keep us up-to-date with fact-based news and updates - possibly available through an actually working app.

Maybe they'll fix the lack of decent ventilation in thr Enchanted casino.

There is no excuse for the stench coming from the casino.  The entire deck 5 reeks of cigarettes. Aren’t they using the updates air cleaning systems that they bragged about?  We’re currently sailing for 30 days, and we only went there on the first night.  We won’t be going back.  Also they used to have no smoking on formal nights. Not anymore.

Thanks.  Nice to know it is not for 2024. I booked Enchanted 20 days cruise from 3/17/24-4/6/24, and hoping 4/6/24 Enchanted will be doing the TA so I can book it as b2b to my 20 days.  As of now, still not seeing Enchanted's schedule from 4/6/24 forward.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but after 4/6/24, the Enchanted will continue doing 7/14 sailings out of Fort Lauderdale until 8/10/24.  These are all open for bookings.

Starting on March 1, bookings will open up for the next series of itineraries.  It starts with a 14 day repositioning cruise from Fort Lauderdale to NYC from 8/10-24/24, going to southern and eastern Caribbean ports.  Then it'll do New England/Canada cruises out of NYC.

Just off Enchanted. We were told they are going to out doors at the entrance of the casino to keep smoke in and no smoke going into the Piazza

We were told by officers that that is exactly what they are going to do.

Thanks. I didn't hear that. It's got to make a big difference.

Awesome!  That was my suggestion.  I’m sure it wasn’t because of me though.  😂

But, I’ll pretend they listened.  It will help if you’re sitting in the piazza.

I’ve heard from several casino staff that the bar is being removed from the casino to create more space. They are also supposed to make the smoking area smaller.

You are correct about the bar removal, it is going adios.

It would be better if they enclosed it behind a glass partition.

I honestly don’t get it. The casino smells like a circa1980 bowling alley and the piazza isn’t much better. . They have to know that drones away more money than it attracts since they are making the area smaller.

Quick summary of what we think we know from this thread…

1.       Removing Salty Dog Gastropub and replacing it with Vines.

2.       They are going to put doors at the entrance of the casino.  The casino will be expanded by removing the bar.  They are also supposed to make the smoking area smaller.

3.       Changing the name of Gigi's to Alfredo's and expanding its seating area as well.

4.       Silverstream Air Lubrication System.

Sad that they are getting rid of the bar.  That was one place where you could get a drink quickly.  Only problem was that it was in the middle of the smoking area which is huge on that ship.  Unless they totally reconfigure the casino or put the tables in the smoking section I can't fathom how they will make a larger non-smoking area where you actually can't smell smoke.

I'm also told that Bistro Sur La Mar is going to be changed to a seafood restaurant.

We’re onboard now, and they’re saying that Sabatinis is going into the Sur la mer location, and a seafood restaurant is going where Sabatinis is now.

That Sabatini's currently has the fun area where you can watch them make the pasta and it's a nice quiet location for the suite breakfast.  It will get awfully noisy in there if moved to the current Sur la Mer location.  Or maybe they will keep the suite breakfast where it is now?
