We have experienced Gigi's, but not Alfredo's. Are they really the same restaurant with just a different name.?

Yes, same place.  IMHO Gigi's not a great name for an Italian venue, sounds French to me.  🤔

My understanding is Alfredo's is named after a Princess chef and Gigi's after an executive at the Fincantieri shipyard which has built the newest ships in the Princess fleet.

We’re onboard now, and they’re saying that Sabatinis is going into the Sur la mer location, and a seafood restaurant is going where Sabatinis is now.

I was informed of the same thing by one of the waitresses at Sur la mer

As long as the food remains good I don't care what they name it.

I had a look at the website today and saw that there are two separate links for the deck plan for the Enchanted Princess, one for cruises before April 6 and on for cruised after April 6.  I cannot see any difference in the public areas except that 360 is labeled in Sabatini's on version 2.  I'd been hoping the rumor that they would be adding a Vines was true.

https://www.princess.com/deckPlans.do?shipCode=EX&version=2

Vines would be a 100% improvement over the always empty Salty Dog!

I believe that Crooners taking over the Bistro is what was reported to be happening on the Sky.  Enchanted already has Crooners.  It was reported that Vines was replacing the Gastro Pub, which to me makes sense due to it being empty all the time.

Bummed they will be taking the bar out of the casino. Was looking forward to using it on June/July

Agree...that's where DH sits and watches the games while I play the slots.

Its weird if these changes are coming then why can I still book reservations at Sur la Mer for June/July?

Deck plans change after April 6, 2024.

Is your cruise this year or next year?

All your comments are very interesting.  I also heard they will be adding 360 to the Enchanted.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but my suggestion is they eliminate the smoking in the casino all together.  That beautiful new ship and what we learned from Covid should have been the best time to do that.  Give the smokers another spot that non smokers can stay out of without giving up what is usually a good experience.

We were recently on the Enchanted and our ONLY complaint about the whole experience was the Casino.  And we are casino people.  We did save money though since we did not use the casino as often as we normally do since the putrid smell kept us out.  We even wore masks in there.  UGH!

Many casinos have done away with the smoking and it has not hurt their attendance.  We heard many others making the same comments.

We noticed smokers on both sides of the casino and nothing was said to them.  We also noticed many just sitting at a slot machine and only occasionally playing just so they could smoke.  And as someone else mentioned, it has always been no smoking on formal nights, but not here.

Sorry for my rant but having lost both parents to smoking related diseases, and being very sensitive to the smell, it is a sore spot with me.

It’s not a rant! My mom went through a bout of breast cancer after about 15 years of quitting smoking.  And I have low risk asthma but cigarette smoke will tighten my chest up badly in a heartbeat.

I don’t want to take away from smokers’ enjoyment but we’re talking about health issues here.  Hope this doesn’t offend anyone!

You are not alone. There is no doubt that the majority of passengers would like to see an end to the use of the casino as a smoking area.

They say they don't allow it but as we all know it's a load of bull. Just take a look around.

Unfortunately the smokers in the casino spend a lot of money and money talks.

The smokers may gamble but there may very well be more people who won't enter the casino due to smoke than there are smokers.

You would have though they'd have those statistics when they stopped smoking during the Covid shutdown.

Smokers do not necessarily have more money than non-smokers but because of their addictive personalities they spend more time gambling which is where the casinos make their money - extended play equals casino profits.

However, the health costs associated with casino employees being around second hand smoke are a risk factor many casinos, not all, are willing to live with unfortunately.

It would be interesting to know what the casino take is in on an Australian Princess cruise, which are non-smoking, versus a regular Princess cruise where smoking is allowed.  I would bet it is not that significantly different.

That lack of difference or difference may be because the Aussies are the predominant guests onboard those cruises and are predominantly nonsmokers, so...

You may be right but that was what we were told at the Cruise cCritic get together on the Enchanted Princess.

I agree, I am one. We occasionally go to the casino on cruises but not this time. Couldn't take the smoke
