So - what we think we know is -

Bistro Sur La Mer becomes Sabatini's.

Sabatini's becomes Catch by Rudi.

Salty Dog GP and Gelato becomes Murphy's Irish Pub.

Gelato moves to Lido Deck 16. (Probably at Swirls)

Casino loses it's bar and gets sliding doors.

My crystal ball (which is as reliable as an Edsel) says Sabatini's remains as is and Bistro Sur LaMer becomes Rudi’s with little change to the decor, just rebranded. I feel the same about Gigi’s, Salty Dog and Gelato, stay mostly intact with a rebrand.  With a large number of guests having the ability to consume at least 2 coma inducing, blood sugar cratering, ice cream concoctions a day I see potential for increased usage of the Gelato space under a new name.

My wife and I were on this week's cruise. Several of the crew reported that the gastropub is changing to an Irish pub concept with an extensive beer on tap offering.  I hope this is the case. Also, as far as the casino goes I feel like Take 5 is a little too large a layout for a jazz club; it seems like it could be more intimate by splitting it in half to use the extra space to expand the casino. The jazz in Take 5 was fantastic, maybe a little too composed and less conversational than I like, but fantastic none the less.

I noticed they closed it many times for a private function.  Hated to go through the casino, because Take Five was closed.

Just got off in Barcelona,

Rudi Sodamin, Princess' head of culinary arts, opened a seafood restaurant on Holland America's Koningsdam called Sel de Mer. The fish was really fresh and it was one of the more memorable meals on our cruise. Hopefully the Catch by Rudi concept is similar!

Considering that he heads the culinary departments for both HAL and Princess must likely.

My guess is they are just renaming GiGi's to Alfredo's, like the other Royal Class ships.  It's the same restaurant/menu so I never understood why they called it something different to begin with.

Yes, that was what I was told while onboard last week.

Spotted  a German interview with Rudi from December where he mentions he is creating two new restaurants for Princess including Catch by Rudi - where he is wants to something very original that has never been done in the cruise industry.

I find it incredible that Princess would pass up the opportunity to hype this new restaurant before we all know about it from passengers onboard.

But then again, nothing surprises me anymore with their marketing! 👀

Good Catch dides!!!

Translated to English from the above mentioned cruisetricks interview with Chef Sodamin:

'Head of Culinary Arts' at Princess Cruises is perhaps the greatest challenge in my life since Queen Elizabeth 2. Princess is also a great brand and company. But the culinary art was somewhat neglected. That needs to be rebuilt. Is it light? Certainly not. But I still have that energy for the next few years.

“That would be the highlight of my career. (...) I already have that in mind.”

Another piece of good news is that I can set up two restaurants at Princess Cruises, again with seafood, "The Catch by Rudi". I'm already tinkering and want to do something very original, something that has never been done in the cruise industry. A concept based on my cookbook Seduction and Spice, which was a bestseller when it was published in 2000. That would be the high point of my career if I can and am really allowed to do it. I can't anticipate this, but this is going to be great. I can see that clearly.

CruiseDeckPlans website now states the following (which varies slightly - but makes more sense) than what we think we know...

Please note:

Next drydock Mar 25 - Apr 15, 2023. 'Bistro Sur La Mer' will become 'Catch by Rudi' and Salty Dog Gastropub will change to an Irish Pub O'Malley's

Also of interest - Princess website deck plans for Enchanted are currently unavailable.

Of all of the changes we were asking for or expecting, I sure wasn't expecting this

I found this posted on social media about a day ago from the ship in the Palermo shipyard. It's a small change, I know, and won't affect the actual cruising experience onboard. But I'm still going to firmly say that I definitely do not love this! I'm hoping someone on the April 15 sailing can actually confirm if what I'm seeing is really happening.

I know it's their tag line from their current ongoing marketing campaign (as referenced below) but to be painted on the hull like that just looks so goofy. A bit like low-cost airline airplane liveries.

May be an image of poster

Oh dear - taking their brand guidelines a bit too far I think!

Seems like "love" is being emphasized with this refurb.

From the official description of cookbook "Seduction and Spice," which The Catch by Rudi could be based on: "Seduction and Spice is not only the perfect gift, but a fabulous and authoritative cookbook as well. The delicious compilation of 130 recipes is guaranteed to have you nibbling-- on Lobster Risotto, Chocolate Mousse...or on your lover's neck!"

Watch out!

I noticed my bookings for Bistro sur le Mer weren't changed to Catch by Rudy. Just deleted in the app😪. I quickly rebooked Rudy, i suggest you do the same before it's sold out!

My booking for BSLM disappeared from the iPhone app.  It still shows in the web version of the app.  Maybe Princess will automatically move the booking????

I just did a live-chat with Princess to move booking, but I was told he could not move my booking because the restaurant is fully booked. he also canceled my BSLM reservation. (Sailing date: 4/29/2023)
