SPIRIT or PRIDE?

Preference? Never been on any Spirit class ship but have always wanted to. Itinerary doesn't matter. We love the shows.  Of those that have been on both, just curious which you prefer and why? thank you.

Carnival has a cool feature where you can compare up to 3 of their ships.  Although the two ships are extremely similar, it looks like Pride offers more activities (cooking demonstrations, martini tasting, and art games were mentioned specifically).  But it says Spirit has a beer station and Pride does not (of course that could change in dry dock (not sure what they have planned for her).  Spirit also lists karaoke and Pride does not. Spirit does not offer Groove for St Jude (and Pride does), but Pride does not have the 80s deck party (Spirit does).

And if spa services matter to you, Spirit has no medi-spa services, but Pride has no acupuncture.

Personally we have a fondness for Spirit (just great memories of prior cruises).  Either way, they are both great and I absolutely love the way Spirit class ships do not feel crowded.

Have a great trip!

They have the exact same layout and the Spirit class is still our favorite. Of note, the Spirit did some time running itineraries in Australia (pre-Covid) and they made a few changes, including the addition  of an arts/crafts space. When we did a Panama cruise on her last year, they had craft classes for about 30 people at a time, first-come, first served.  Generally the type of painting or small crafts people may do as hobbies and I think the whole thing may have been branded by Michael's.

In terms of decor, given recent controversies on the subject, the Pride does include a 6-7 deck high mural of the David statue that faces the glass elevators in the lobby. Doesn't bother me, but I could see how it might surprise some.

In my most humble opinion the only "controversy" is coming from small numbers of relatively uneducated prudish people who have never been exposed to classical art.

With my rant out of the way, I've been on both Spirit and Pride and really like them both.  They're so similar that I'd have to chose based on itinerary, driving distance, cost, etc.

I love all the feedback. Thank you. Perhaps the Pride would be the better option...But I'd love the 80's party the Spirit offers too:-)

Yeah, OP. The similarities are sooooo close that you won't go wrong either way.  I'd absolutely be making my decision on cost, itinerary and convenience.

I can confirm Groove for St. June on the Spirit.  Regarding the beer stations, if that means the automatic machines using your sail and sign card, those were out of service they entire cruise last summer, but may be different now.

On Spirit last year.  Loved it. Do believe it’s the only Carnival ship that still uses tablecloths in the mdr, which I prefer!

Enjoy them while you can because just like the casino bar, they are on the chopping block probably at the next dry dock. Heald has said so. I mostly cruise Spirit class ships myself and I personally like the Spirit the best. The dining room not as gaudy as the Miracles! But gaudy doesn't bother me any way.

It figures!  Kind of more loyal to Royal.  Don’t know why tablecloths matter to me but they do!

It is a nice touch and probably much more sanitary than the dirty bacteria ridden towel that the non tablecloth tables are being wiped down with 😉 .

I read somewhere that David is being removed during dry dock.
