Rare shof515 Posted June 15, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2023 This post was recognized by LauraS! "Congrats on your first "Live from...." Thank you for generously sharing your time at sea with everyone at Cruise Critic!" shof515 was awarded the badge '"Live from...."' Today is Venezia first cruise out of New York and first cruise to Bermuda Embarkation at the terminal is somewhat disorganized. At the terminal they check the boarding pass documents first when you walk into the terminal, then security and then boarding the ship. Make sure to have the boarding pass printed out on paper. A digital copy is not accepted. There is a separate line to print out a copy if needed. they can be a long slow moving line outside that terminal that can snake down to the other piers. 11

FiredogCruiser Posted June 15, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2023 I think the best port embarkation experiences I have had have been in Baltimore, New Orleans and Port Canaveral. The most aggravating were Miami and Seattle. We had a similar experience where we needed to show our boarding pass at least four times, AFTER checking in at the desk, before getting on the ship. With today's technology there is no reason for that to slow down the boarding process. Appears New York could be added to the aggravating list.

sgttami Posted June 16, 2023 #13 Share Posted June 16, 2023 I've sailed out of NY over a dozen times and always found it to be one of the easiest ports (other than Baltimore). Looking forward to Venezia this winter and hope it's as easy as it ever was!

Rare shof515 Posted June 16, 2023 Author #15 Share Posted June 16, 2023 My multi port USB charger does not fit due to the mirror. Lucky I have a small 1in extension cable for it. I prefer to use my own charger instead of the USB ports in the room

LouChamp Posted June 16, 2023 #17 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Aloha. Thank you for taking the time to post about your vacay. Having been born and raised in Manhattan, I have been blessed to sail from NY to Bermuda and elsewhere many times. Sailing under the bridge is special and you will enjoy Bermuda. Have a great time! Rare shof515 Posted June 16, 2023 Author #19 Share Posted June 16, 2023 (edited) Ship time changed by 1 hour. Only notification in the hub app. It's not in the printed fun times or a card left in the room. Time change could confuse some people today When checking my account in the hub app I noticed a 58 dollar charge that got reduced to 0 dollars. I wonder what this is for. very curious Edited June 16, 2023 by shof515
nycruise1 Posted June 16, 2023 #20 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Believe the Bon Voyage is things for you room when you first board (decorations or tasty treats). Must have realized you did not order it. We board when you disembark. If you happen to notice at lunch, does the Seafood Shack have asian food? It did on the inaugural.
