Shade on Coco Cay?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a strategy to find shade on Coco Cay? We were there a few months ago, but unfortunately there was another, larger ship unloading too, and we were slow to start. The few shady spots were all gone.  We'll get a quicker start next time, but any other ideas?

We have never had issues finding shade, even with two ships there.  We usually head to either Chill Beach or South Beach and always find two loungers with an umbrella.  We try to get them beside a palm tree for even more shade.

We have been to CocoCay several times with two large ships. We never had a problem finding an umbrella on Chill Beach (we park near the bar and buffet... both used multiple times during our stay).

If you want to guarantee shade, you can book the Coco Beach Club, every lounger pair has an umbrella.

We went to Chill Beach but, as you, we got a late start with two ships there.  We just kept walking until we found shade.  You WILL find shade, but it may take a bit more walking than you expected.
