Champagne with CC class cabin

We are booked in a CC class cabin on the Silhouette in November.  I see that you get a bottle of champagne in your room. Is it possible to get a bottle of wine instead because we don't drink champagne.  Thanks for the insite.

In the past they have allowed this (it is actually sparkling wine, not Champagne).

You're aware champagne is wine.

Its the bubbly part of the wine that we don't drink.  Prefer just the regular reds or whites.  Would you recommend calling Captains Club prior to cruising or wait and talk to our room steward?

We've usually saved our complimentary bottle to drink while packing on the last day. Which means my wife will drink one glass, and I end up finishing the bottle.

I have tried on a couple of sailings and was told no, but I have read that others have been able to do it, so I suggest asking once on board.

Switching the sparkling wine for red or white was fairly common in the past.  Lately there seem to be more restrictions on what the staff  can do.  Last time in CC we couldn’t get cheese & crackers instead of the canapés.

Cabin attendant was very apologetic “I’m sorry but we can only offer the canapés”.
