I am curious.. When i am on the official HAL website and i browse sailings, prices seem to (almost always) be the same

---- VS ----

NOT logging in.

Is this something that is normal?

It is unless there is special Mariner pricing you qualify for, casino discount, etc.

If you are getting Casino discounts, you won't see the discounted price until you follow through with a mock booking at least until you select the room categories. At that point the price will just drop if there is a Casino discount for you.

Not sure how/when other Mariner private fares show up.

There is always a difference when I look up without logging in and then logging in under our Mariner numbers. That said, sometimes my number gets a better pricing than DH's number, although our cruise history is identical. Hmm?

I have noticed with HAL emails of promos and such, my number shows better rates sometimes.

I agree that you do not really know how much until you go through the  booking process which is a pain to have to do just to get the actual pricing.

Understood.  And, thank you for the feedback.

I have never gotten a HAL casino discount.  Then again, I have never paid for my two HAL cruises.  They were given to be my "local" casino corporation where I live.  Maybe that sounds conveluded.  Sorry.

I ask the question, because, I am sure one day I will have to actually pay full price for a cruise.

Okay.  Hold on.  I did not read your reply fully (my error).

When I log in, I use my EMAIL address, and not my mariner number.  That makes a difference?

No, it shouldn't. Your email is tied to your Mariner number. However, with HAL's tech issues I wouldn't be surprised if it did show up at a different price.

Not to go off my original topic ... but, I will ... he he he.

I don't think I would know if I got a HAL Casino Offer, to be honest.  I have paper-mailings that say "Private Sale" on the envelope.  And, the periodic email.

Have any of you gotten a HAL Casino Offer --- and knew it was offered because of your casino play aboard a ship?  I'm wondering now.

My casino play has been quite minimal on my two HAL sailings.  Like in the realm of two buy-ins of $100 each.

When I search logged in, the price drops when I go through a booking.

When I complete a booking - it says "Casino discount applied" in the summary - so I assume my discounted price is a result of a Casino fare.

If you call a PCC (or I assume HAL direct if you don't have a PCC) they can tell you based on your Mariner number.

I find I need to go all the way to see the cart just to be sure there is no discount.  If you read the fine print on any mailer you may need to enter a promo code, ditto with casino mailings. To be sure your email is hooked up to your Mariner account once you are logged in try looking at your account to see if you see the past history.

Well, just keep booking any local casino offers and you won't have to worry about pricing ;). I hope you keep receiving these offers and realize how great that is!  Take me with you, please?!

We are 4* and have never had a casino offer, our daughter who has cruised twice & never played in the casino has had 3-4 casino offers?

Yep, it just works that way sometimes - baffling, for sure. I do not try to figure it out or worry what I might be missing, I just book what I believe to be a good price for me and enjoy the discounts I do receive.

We've never given a casino a dime, yet have received (and booked) casino offers.

We have not cruised HAL before. Did a mock booking to find out cost. Then rang HAL direct to see if Club Orange was available for our particular cruise. Operator asked if I'd like to book and did so over the phone. Price was cheaper than website with additional cost of CO included. Not sure why.

Maybe double check to make sure the deposit you paid is refundable (or not). That might be why the cruise was cheaper.  But that's a guess on my part.  I hope you'll enjoy your cruise!

I will certainly keep booking them.  I am hopeful they never stop.  So, where do you want to go?  :)

In 2022 my Boyd Gaming letter offered about 25 choices.  Sailings like Mex, Caribbean, Pan Canal.   (took Mex)

This year my Boyd Gaming letter offered about 70 choices.  Sailings like Mex, Jewels of the Baltic, Mex, AK, Pan Canal, Caribbean, New England and Quebec.  (took AK)

With those kinds of offerings you can sail to some very nice places! Take these while you can: actually paying is quite a bore
