Heathrow to Southampton transfer

We will be in London, Heathrow.  Any advice how to get to Southampton,  bus, train, private car? Will stay two nights, then Uber to pier.

We have used https://www.blackberrycars.com several times.  Always had good, punctual drivers at a great price.  Very easy to book via the website.

I found the following website helpful in comparing options for doing a transfer from Heathrow to Southampton for our cruise in 2024.

We just completed Oceania Vista British Isles cruise Shouthampton to Southampton on 8/30/23. Excellent cruise. We used BA Transfers for a private car based on a recomendation and they were excellent. Email and phone confirmations and great communication from drivers. Used them for airport to hotel , hotel to Southampton cruise port and Southampton cruise port to Heathrow. It was 178 pounds from cruise port to heathrow

I just used National Express bus 2 weeks ago. Inexpensive and fairly simple.

Four of us shared a private car.  Even stopped in Windsor on the way.  Worked great.

I used National Express Coach but then I only have 1 suitcase (23.5" with wheels)

We took the National Express Coach.  Was easy once we figured out that the bus says what the LAST stop is and doesn't say Southampton.   We each had a wheeled suitcase and backpack.

Beware of old information, routes were re-jigged some little while back.

 

For buses from LHR to Southampton final destination now is PORTSMOUTH (The Hard)

Route number 203 (which is also shown on the destination board)

 

It's the same bus from Heathrow for cruises out of Portsmouth
