jayjay10704 Posted November 3, 2023 #51 Share Posted November 3, 2023 Venezia just ranked #7 in the CDC's 2023 cleanest ships...second cleanest Carnival ship in the fleet. 5
kdr69 Posted November 3, 2023 #52 Share Posted November 3, 2023 how can you say avoid a ship at all costs because of rude passengers? First off the passengers the OP encountered would not be the passengers of the cruisers you are speaking to and secondly how is it the Ships fault there are rude people on board? Its not like its a check in question "Are you rude?" yes or no? 5 1

WhiteOptima Posted November 3, 2023 #55 Share Posted November 3, 2023 All Vista class casinos are horrible. Then when you are a floor up and the smoke is reaching you at the Alchemy Bar☹️. We play slots but after a day or so of trying to handle the smoke, we keep our money and do other things.

I believe it, my last Carnival cruise was on the Magic and I don't think I saw a single carpet or rug or chair that wasn't stained. It was actually kind of incredible how horrible the ship's soft goods looked. My cruise before Magic was on a Disney ship that is basically the same age as Magic. The difference between the two, to put it mildly, is insane. The Carnival ship looked like it was ready for the breakers compared to the Disney ship. Rare Jamman54 Posted November 3, 2023 #60 Share Posted November 3, 2023 The Venezia is basically a brand new ship. It was launched in 2019 and only cruised for a short time before Covid. After Covid, she only sailed for a little while before being signed over to Carnival. We just spent 21 days on her and never saw what the OP was talking about, other than the casino being smoky. I can agree with that. As far as everything being stained everywhere! No way. Urine smell in the casino. Really? Sure, people spill things and you will find some stains, but that's normal, and they do get addressed. If the OP was so upset, why didn't he take pictures to document it? I've posted hundreds of pictures so far in my review, and I'm not seeing it. And before you say that I wouldn't post them if they existed, I have always told it like it is. I show the good, the bad, the indifferent. I am not a shill for Carnival, and I don't gamble enough to get free cruises. In three weeks aboard her not once did we encounter any rude crew members. It was quite the opposite. Perhaps the OP was rude to them first. I have a feeling, and I could be wrong, that the OP was on the Bermuda cruise that didn't make it to Bermuda, and is showing his displeasure here. 19

Sorry I missed you on the 15 day cruise Jamman. I couldn't sign in to CC after a few days. John kept looking for you. Not sure if you met Leona and her sister or even Rob from Boston.

I wont go on Carnival in the summer from NY anymore - the riff raff on the ship is too much. My last cruise we had people sitting outside their rooms in lawn chairs and smoking the goods stuff everywhere. It does happen on all the ships but less than Carnival. Carnival is leaving again next December and then no ship in NY which is not so bad because the other options out of NY are better than the ships they have been sending up here. Venezia is coming back to NY in April/May of 2025 then in 2026 it's going into drydock.

I do not know what is up with this ship, rude staff, rude passengers. Ship is dirty throughout. The main dinning area is like a old, outdated convention center. There are stains on the fabic of the chairs in dinning area.. was afraid to sit on some. There are so many soiled rugs. The casino area to walk through -I felt sick, smoke, stale smoke, and what smelled like urine. Avoid this ship!! In my humble opinion, I call the original posters statement as pure BS. I have sailed twice on the Venezia and the ship is lovely. The staff was helpful, the ship is clean and very well maintained, the shows were nice and the food was adequate. Additionally, the value factor versus cost is excellent and no one within my party had any negative views of the Venezia. If given the opportunity and time, I would cruise once again the Venezia without hesitation. 11

havanadaydreaming Posted November 4, 2023 #69 Share Posted November 4, 2023 Lots of grumps at excursion desk today. Pretty rainy st lucia morning and folks can get 75% of prepaid excursions back as OBC. Several are railing for 100%. Waste of time all the tours are running rain or shine. Drazil65 Posted November 4, 2023 #70 Share Posted November 4, 2023 Whatever OP's experience was with this ship, its his story to tell. There are many times I shake my head at some of the opinions and statements here as they are nothing like what we may have experienced when cruising. Whether you agree or not doesn't matter, we all don't have the same likes and dislikes and all of our expectations differ as well (and some people like to be contrary no matter the subject matter). It is the internet after all, take it for what its worth 🙄.

We used a limo service to get to port and when the car dropped 6 of us off in drop off area, port personnel were scrambling around. There were maybe 3 porters visibly loading luggage on their luggage trolleys haphazardly. It was crazy. We arrived around 10:30. Maybe a later arrival time would have been better. A drive to Baltimore works very well for us as well. Edited November 4, 2023 by Rahi

We could have purchased a cheap room.. I get that you can cruise for next to nothing on this cruise line.. but we don't go for that. I also get why there was so much rift raft on this ship vs RCL
