Status match question

Sorry if this has been asked but my search did not return anything recent.. 

 

we are platinum status with Carnival. we get very good deals due to casino play. We would like to try MSC and I read somewhere that they status match carnival.. how is the best way to find out more info.. do they match casino play also?

They status match with just about everyone.  I believe they have their own casino program, someone here will know.  I only go into the casino to get somewhere else…. EM

As Platinum on Carnival, you would be matched to Gold on MSC. Here is the form:

As others have said, Plat on Carnival will status match you to Gold on MSC.  The perks aren't as good as Carnival, but it was nice getting a few things as a MSC newbie.  Only a casual casino player here so no experience with offers.

You may be eligible for a higher status match through other loyalty programs you're using.   They match more than other cruiselines.

noticed this on MSC website:

• New MSC Status Match guests will be enrolled with a higher membership level compared to the matching one, gaining one membership level upgrade with a new booking made between 9/18/2023 and 11/30/2023, and departing between October 1st, 2023 - March 31st, 2024 on select sailings. The new level upgrade will be available within 7 days of departure, therefore guest will be able to use the benefits prior to their departure date.

I wouldn't worry, there is a catch in the T&C's ....

Ah - okay -- We matched as Gold but given I am sailing in YC, I do not see any additional benefit from the status, other than the OBC I received.

I booked our cruise with MSC last Thursday. Applied for status match yesterday and just got the email that I am Gold with MSC. Is there a way to add my new membership to my booking to get the additional cruise discount, extra OBC and other perks? I have not done final payment yet - due 1st week of December.

You can call and ask for the discount to be added. Make sure that you have your Voyager's Club number and DOB since the rep will ask for them.

 

Before you hang up, make sure that the new total is correct (do the math yourself before you call) and make sure that you receive a new PDF in your email with everything correct.

 

The discount is applied to the base fare, not to the taxes/port fees.
