Captain's Club Elite benefits question

First time back to Celebrity after many years cruising other cruise lines and reaching Diamond or similar level on most.

RCI Diamond with the 4 drinks daily, free photos, free day of internet are the most valued to us.

A bit disappointed in the Celebrity Elite benefits . especially the HH which runs into dinning times and not offered on Embarkation night.

We are encouraged on how Celebrity has controlled indoor smoking .

An overlooked benefit is the special in-cabin benefit for Diamond Plus members with a certain amount of points. On our last Royal cruise we had two bottles of wine, one red, one white, in our cabin awaiting us.

x gives you 90 minutes (240 for Elite+) each free premium wifi that you can use as and when you like. We find this much more flexible than the Royal system which leaves us for days with no free internet.

Best suggestion is to activate 1 package and see how many days the 90 minutes last. By preparing off line loggin sending and logging out you will be surprised how little you need to keep in touch. When thew first 90 is used decide if the second will last for the rest of the cruise, if not you can trade it in as a discount on a full package for the remaining days by which time there will probably be an offer.

free drinks: also available at the Elite breakfast every day - champagne, bloody mary's and mimosas.

free drinks in the casino when actively playing

also a bag of free laundry each ( on Royal you just get a discount)

also priority tendering (not offered by Royal)

yes the programmes are different, embrace the differences and enjoy.

thanks. As Elite+ on X and 4 points off Diamond+ on Royal we are are aware of the benefits of each.

The difference between us is that you believe that if something is best for you then it must be best for everyone else and we should therefore all support you in seeking change.

I have tried to illustrate that this is not so - the programmes are different and on balance that of X is better for us.

enjoy your cruises and the benefits offered we certainly will.

As an Elite+ on X and Diamond+ on Royal i am aware of the benefits of each like you are. Just call this even.

Cheers!

I am going to be a little straightforward and somewhat cold hearted here but if you want Royal Caribbean benefits, sail on Royal Caribbean.  If you want Celebrity's benefits, sail on Celebrity.  I wish folks would just accept what is for what it is and stop trying to change things.  Reading this board daily, as I usually do, I can tell you for every person that wants Celebrity to change to be like Royal, there is another person that does not want that change.

All the recent changes that Celebrity has done have been, in my opinion, a result of senior management moving over from the Royal Caribbean side of the family and trying to put their mark on Celebrity.  In my opinion this has resulted in a less appealing Celebrity offer and is the primary reason that for the first time in 15 years, I do not have another Royal Caribbean or Celebrity cruise booked, with the exception of one i booked before all these changes starting happening.

Since Elite Happy Hour is available in most bars on the ship she can be with you at those bars. Obviously she wont get free drinks but you can. That's the beauty of allowing Elite HH to be available at many bars as opposed to just one private lounge.

When it use to be held only in the lounge the non elite person sharing a cabin could attend and get the drinks as it was an event, the same as the elite breakfast.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I don't remember non Elite members being able to attend the Elite HH Lounge considering they would have people checking your card for status plus you needed to have status to have the drink coupons in your account.

@miched is correct. Not sure if it was at the discretion of the CC host for that particular cruise or fleetwide. I believe there was a code on the non Elite Seapass card indicating limited CC perks. The CC HH in the Sky Lounge was one of the perks.

In any event my comment was more about when one travels with friends and families in other cabins who don't have status and this can't participate in the HH. By opening it up to most bars allows those who have the benefit to enjoy it with others who don't and have to pay for the drinks (or have a drinks package). I think the current compromise on Celebrity is the best of both worlds, with a couple of special days where the HH is in a particular lounge where Elites and above can meet other Elites to drink and chat.

Agree. Having both options is perfect. Looking forward to the reintroduction of the CC HH event on our September Edge cruise. Just my opinion but the CC HH in the lounge should only be for Elite and above. We were never fans of how the CC handled it pre covid.

When I shared a cabin with my daughter (no status) in 2015, she could accompany me to all Elite Plus events and this was automatic, no special permission necessary.

No personal experiences. Just posting what others posted what their personal experiences were. As I said in a previous post up to the discretion of the CC host for that particular cruise.

free drinks: also available at the Elite breakfast every day - champagne, bloody mary's and mimosas.

I do not see this mentioned as an Elite benefit anywhere ? Is it new ?

Where is the Elite Breakfast?

What ship are you interested in? It is always 8 to 10 AM. The CC flier you will receive in your stateroom will outline all perks/benefits, times and locations for your specific cruise.

The Elite and above breakfast was been offered for years.  I remember it on the now departed Mercury.  It is a nice alternative to the Ocean View Buffet or the MDR for a light breakfast.  As already mentioned on this thread the Captain's Club info sheet (which will be in your stateroom) will have the location on your specific ship.

even when the special event is held the drinks are still also available in all the other venues.

It originally was held in the Tuscan Restaurant in E-Class ships but it seems to have been moved to Le Grand Bistro at most E-Class ships.

Wish they would stop calling this "Coffee House Style" -- as an X newbie, I was shamed by the CC Host when I tried to stop in for just coffee.  I was told it's only full breakfast service -- and she was NOT kind about it.  I've never been to a coffee house where you couldn't order just coffee.  It's put me off even wanting to try Elite breakfast on a different ship with a different host.  (Constellation in the Med last summer)

As a Celebrity newbie are you Elite or above? I've never had a problem just ordering a Bloody Mary. No matter the ship or itinerary.
