Does cheers beverage pkg go on sale?

It has been quite some time since I last cruised Carnival.  My March cruise shows the cheers beverage pkg at $69.95, is it usually the same price onboard? Does it ever go on sale in the planner?

It typically costs less if you order beforehand. I've never seen it go on sale.

It went on sale once, was a 20% discount if I remember right. Pretty sure the year was 2013 as that was the only time I purchased it. Best to purchase prior to the cruise, once you’re on the ship the price is higher.

Odds are much greater that it will increase in price rather than go on sale if you ask me. Carnival has been hiking the price of their add-ons every few months here lately.

Yes like everyone mentioned its cheaper to purchase online before your cruise so technically its always on sale.

If you are eligible to use the AARP gift cards, it's equivalent to getting 10% off.

No. No sales on cheers for many years. Your best bet is to purchase in advance using discounted gift cards

I think they're always available now and they're E-gift cards now, they're not mailed any longer.  You can also find deal to join AARP.  Chase often has cashback offers on their cards and check the shopping portals, they usually have offers... I just made $2 on renewing my membership! 🙂

I've never seen them not on sale when I needed them, and I've been purchasing them for years. I don't spend a dime on Carnival without using an AARP gift card.

I use the AARP cards for everything Cruise related, Paying for the cruise, excursions, water for the cabin, Specialty dining. cheers, shore excursions etc.

Same here.  Between that and my normal kickback from a TA I can usually save 15% or so on the total cost.

You have to go to the awards site:  https://www.aarp.org/rewards/redeem/#sort-by=default

 

Plus this is a great reason to pre-pay tips, you can discount them 10% too.
