Not married to Celebrity here, but at this point we are common law partners

We tend to have December trysts with other cruise lines.

We have only ever cheated on X during the month of December.
The most recent was blatantly out in the open.

Does that now make ours an open marriage? 🤣🤣

I’m a cruise bigamist….or maybe even a trigamist. Ok hell I’ve got a ship in every city.  I sail Celebrity in Athens, Princess between Rome and Fort Lauderdale, Carnival in Jacksonville and RC in Bayonne.

Yes, I just found out for a fact that they gave the car to the casino VIP, at least we can only guess this is what they did.  I'll let you know for sure later...

What the heck did you just say.....I know for fact.....we can only guess....

I like the part of the story where two pax are fighting over the Penthouse suite and OP says "let the OTHER people stay in the CS".  🤣

Thanks to Bo and others for commenting on contract law.  I am not a lawyer but I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night.  And I took a required course in contract law in business school.  I must have missed the day when we talked about how a contract is whatever you "feel" it should be.

You might want to schedule an appt with your doctor to have some things checked out after that

😈

😂😂😂 Our kids and grandkids all live there with the youngest being 4 year old twins. This will be their first cruise and we wanted to keep it short and simple with a quick trip to the port. NCL is coming to JAX in 2026 so there may be a new partner soon lol.

OP here.

(1) If anyone purchased a typical Suite Guarantee, they'd be THRILLED with a Celebrity Suite! (They typically get a Sky Suite). What happened was someone did not get a Suite Guarantee as can be purchased by common-folk. We were only told that after my husband made that comment. That info was not volunteered at first.

(2) Somehow, folks didn't seem to look at the Terms and Conditions for the entire Move Up. It is quite clear later on, with language about cancelling AFTER the bid has been accepted. (Which was our case). The cruise was not canceled and we are on the ship. Celebrity should have no recourse to refund us in the Move Up T & Cs.

Refunds, credits, or changes may be issued only in the following circumstances: 1) Celebrity cancels the cruise, or 2) Celebrity cancels the cruise and re-books the guests onto another cruise in a stateroom class that is lower than the upgraded stateroom class."

and

"

Modifying the Booking by Celebrity

If Celebrity for whatever reason re-books the Guest or any person associated with the booking to another cruise departing on a date that is different from the original booking date, Celebrity, in its sole discretion, may transfer any Offer made in relation to the original booking to the new booking, subject to availability of the upgraded stateroom category."

A flunky is just someone who performs menial tasks, it doesn’t mean stupid as in flunking a test or a class…and the OP didn’t call them flunkies on the phone.  You don’t have to feel bad for the OP to recognize poor customer service. Those are two different things.

Nah - it's like calling someone the "R" word. It's just not acceptable anymore.

Then a little further on it says

…The terms and conditions of your original cruise booking will remain in effect following the acceptance of an Offer or if an Offer is not accepted. This includes terms and conditions pertaining to cancellation, penalties, changes, the Captain’s Club program….

So, what you gonna do? Conflicting terms which will cost more in lawyer fees than the cruise cost to settle out.

And as I mentioned before, even if they were legally in the wrong to do it, after they returned your money and you to your original cabin what actual damages can be claimed and sued for?
