Blanton’s bourbon

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how much Carnival charges for a glass (shot) of Blanton’s bourbon or if it’s even available on the ships?  We have the Cheers program but want to know if it’s over their $20 max limit  TIA!

I had it at Alchemy on the Miracle a few weeks ago. Unsure of exact price but it was covered with Cheers!

It USED to (as in one year ago) be $15, otherwise I wasn't charged the $3 overage. I've seen it in Pig & Anchor on the Vista and Excel class ships and in the steakhouses on Conquest and Spirit class ships. Drank it so much on Glory last March they gave me the little horse when the bottle was gone 🙂

Now this is the way to get the most out of the cheers package😁

What's the difference between Blanton's and my current fav Woodford Reserve?  Smokier? Just curious on what you all think.  Yes, I will try it on my next cruise in September😉

Hard to know since it feels impossible to find a bottle of Blantons in the last few years.  Like Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace... very very difficult to source.  That being said I have heard its not that great and is only "rare" because of John Wick lol.

I wouldn't say smokier.  It's just incredibly smooth. Definitely prefer Blantons over Woodford and Buffalo Trace.  I haven't been able to find a bottle on land for the past few years. The only time I get it is on a cruise....which is probably a good thing! 😜

When I'm on a cruise is usually the few times I drink bourbon, like in a Caribbean Manhattan😻I'll need to ask if the mixologist can use Blanton's👍

I am not a bourbon person but have seen Blanton's mentioned several times here on CC, so when I saw it in our local liquor store I had to look at the price (around $65 I believe). Might try some next week on Mardi Gras if I can find it in any of the bars.

Usually the steakhouse bar has it on most ships.  Vista is the only Alchemy Bar I've seen it at. I saw on CC that Pig and Anchor had it on MG.  Please report back if this is true because we get on her the day you get off!😜

Looks like I need to investigate other bars while on board.

Sparks, at $65 I'd be buying plenty. I saw some in Cookeville TN at $149 last year.

I'm heading down to grab rum in a bit so I'll double check it.

Heads up bourbon fans....  last November the casino bar on the Sunshine had EH Taylor.  it's good stuff.

Oh nice good to know...in the past the best the bar at the casino would have was woodford. Still makes a darn good Old Fashioned.

Here you go. We drank Blantons Old Fashions all last week on the Vista.

I was wondering if bourbon could be used in old fashions (complete neophyte here about anything related to whiskey/bourbon/scotch). Looked at the liquor store and Blanton's is $70 here.

Blantons is super smooth; and this is coming from someone who has tried a few different varieties of Pappy.

Weller is a close second, imho.

but yeah; a lot of ships now have Blantons (vista class and excel class both have it at Guys Pig & Anchor)

here in California Blantons is $100 a bottle IF you can get it.

Buffalo Trace was also available at most bars around the Sunshine and for my tastes, BT makes a better old fashioned than Woodford and the EH Taylor mentioned earlier.
