I am looking to book a cruise with Princess for next summer. I have 1 scheduled this fall and am wondering what, if any, their current onboard booking offers are and if it is worth waiting to book as the sailing is pretty open?

They have been the same for many years.  OBC.  This is added to whatever promo is in effect.

Any idea how much? Is it dependent on category and cruise length that you are booking?

It will be the same as if you use a future cruise deposit for your deposit if you have one. It's a $100 deposit plus some OBC as mentioned in the previous posting. This is standard. There may also be some promos available that are also available from TAs. Rare that there are promos that are specific to being on board. You can also assign a booking to a TA and then get their benefits as well, if any.

There was a time last year when they had 50% off on certain cruises only if they were booked while onboard.  The deal was so good, I booked about 11 of the  In total.  Even the plus package fare was half off.
now, it’s hard to get them to show us those listing and there is nothing like we saw last year.  The cruise fare is all that is discounted now and most of them are nowhere near half.  There are some sailings that have some additional OBC if they can add you to a group.
I saw where you may be able to view some sailings on the TV in your stateroom that are on special but I can’t really speak to that if it’s a special deal or not.  Since they are pretty much filling ships to capacity, I’m not sure we are going to see the deals that we found in the last couple of years.

Be very careful booking with future cruise department on board. They are not Princess employees and are not up to date with all the details and rules. They promise a lot of things that they cannot deliver

Many are still there from when they were Princess employees. But, you are right, some are just interested in selling those packages that their current employer now offers.  They just don’t make sense for us as the only time we really stay in hotels in when we go to a casino where the room is comped.

I couldn't get them to show us anything on the Sky.  Every time I asked, she kept putting me off.

We are currently on the Majestic and I met with the Future Cruise Dept a few days ago.  No deals!  They commented that cruises are sailing at capacity again and we will see few discounted fares.

Whereas they used to freely show us, they now keep those lists a big well guarded secret.  I think that know that people like me book a whole slew of them at one time.  Not sure why that would bother them unless they have a quota of how much they wish to get out of each passenger.  I can’t really blame them but the only way we can cruise often is to get the those smokin deals.
Anyway, we will be going on our last two half off deals starting this Saturday.

You might have a better chance of securing significant discounts through the casino rather than the future cruise department. Though I do not have insider insights, based on my experience and observations, you typically only need to spend about $500 in the casino to qualify for discounts on future cruises. It is not necessary to actually lose $500; you just need to gamble that much money. After a month or two, you may start receiving emails from the casino department offering you 25% off the public fare for a standard balcony cabin for yourself and a guest, often accompanied by $100 to $200 OBC. This deal can apply to most of the cruises Princess offers. For some last-minute deals on cruises that are not selling well, you might even find an inside cabin for as low as $149 per person for a 7-day itinerary.
