Ladies: how do you carry your id card?

The fellas have wallets and/or swimsuits with zippered pockets. But us gals usually carry such things as id cards, cash for tips, chap stick, whatever around in a purse.

Assuming I don't want to lug a purse around with me on a ship (I'll probably take a beach bag into port with me each day, but I'd rather not take one to dinner, the nightly shows, the spa, the casino, etc....), what is the best way you've found to carry your id/room card with you?

Do you use a lanyard, tuck it in a bra, suck it up and carry a purse anyways?

I had always put it in my pocket around ship (or evening purse at night). Carried it in an RFID small wallet on excursions. This last cruise, I used a lanyard and it worked well.

They were selling lanyards with plastic ID badge holders at the port of New Orleans on our first cruise - best $4 I could have spent - I carry my key card and cash for the casino or a list of things I want to do on board that day from the Freestyle Daily and when and where they are being held.

I also use a lanyard with the plastic ID holder. One less item to misplace!

I've done lanyards, pockets and wristlets. The wristlet seemed to work out best for me.

I use either a lanyard (have desk punch holes in my room card and casion card)...or if I have more stuff..I have a small "fanny pack"--that goes under my blouse.. (I refuse to lug around purse on board :D--)

If you carry it in any sort of purse, make sure it doesn't have a magnet which will totally mess up your cruise card ... won't open your cabin door! :eek:

I only buy bathing suit covers that have good size pockets to carry everything. In evening I have two sling bags that are the size of an iPod. On shore I bring a beach bag.

Good point! On one cruise, I recall replacing my card twice because it kept malfunctioning..finally realized I was the one malfunctioning, by carrying the card next to an eyeglass case that had a little magnet in the clasp!

Now on cruises, I carry the card, glasses, a pen etc in a fabric zippered pouch with a cord, that I hang around my neck. Bought some of these pouches on the ship when we went to Casablanca so they are really pretty silky patterned ones.

I always carry my camera everywhere with me, so the card goes in the camera bag.

If not my pocket, I either have a tote bag for excursions or the pool or a wristlet the other times of the day. I like to take my camera with me too so where ever it is stored, the card can be too.

I use a vera bradley zip around id holder. They have a small chain on them and hold some money, ship card and a chap stick. I use a large safety pin and pin the chain to my shorts or in the event of no pockets pin it to the waist band under my tshirt. Mom, grandma and I started this about 4 cruises ago, and they are the best!!!!!

I use an over the shoulder Vera Bradley mini hipster...lightweight and just big enough for essentials. There's a place to carry id/key card. I notice it now comes in black.

I have a very small black wallet with 3 pockets I bought at Walmart. I keep room key in one pocket, my ID in another pocket and its' wrist strap in the 3rd. During the day, I have it my pocket and in the evening it is on my wrist or in may pocket. I think I paid about $ 5 for it a couple of years ago.

That's what I use too. It's a perfect size and, since it can be worn cross-body, it leaves your hands free.

I attach my Vera Bradley zip ID holder to a VB lanyard of the same pattern. In the evening I will carry a small Vera Bradley over the shoulder bag. For shore excursions, I use a Vera Bradley backpack, Yes, I love Vera Bradley!

I bought everyone in our family unique lanyards online so they'd be different than others on board. When by the pool it was with our towels and bathing suit cover up.

If you just want to carry only your room key with you. A name badge holder with a clip or a luggage tag holder will do the trick.

Easy access not any bigger than the card itself.

I have several different lanyards, from sporty for workouts to fancy chains for dinner. You can't believe the number of times you need your room key (or magic card, as my DS13 calls it, because he can get things "for free" LOL) and the lanyard is convenient. I suggest you poke around http://www.boojeebeads.com they have all kinds of lanyards, wristlets, badge reels, holders, etc etc etc.

I have used either a Vera Bradley lanyard or a small Coach wristlet - it just depends what else (if anything) I want to carry!

I use a wrist wallet that is made of the same stretchy material as a swimsuit and has two zippered pockets.It holds room key, a credit card, drivers license, a bit of cash which will get wet, but I have never had anyone at a beach refuse my wet money.

With this i can have my valuables with me even when swimming, and no risk of a pickpocket getting my money.

It looks like a wrist sweat band.

google wrist or arm wallet

dont get one with velcro (too bulky, and increases risk of coming open and losing it)

During the daytime DH carries the cards in his pocket and at night I carry them in a wristlet purse along with my glasses and lipstick.

i have a very small lightweight across the body strapped purse that i use. i need a kleenex, my passcard,credit card, a few dollar bills and a breath mint or two with me all the time. i never use a fanny pack. i have a enough around my middle anyway and dont want too add too it. the wristlets sound great . i am going too check them out on line. so much easier at the buffets and things.

During the day I use a small waterproof container that holds all 4 cruise cards, photo ID for 2 adults and some cash. I wear it with a strap that goes across my body, with the actual case usually tucked into a pocket or my waistband. At night I have a Betsey Johnson wristlet that holds the cards with a lipstick.

Laynards are not my style, so I look for things that I can use discretely and not ruin my outfit lol!
