Is Cagney's open for breakfast for suite passengers on debarkation day? I am trying to figure out our game plan for debarkation day and just curious.

Thanks!

Yes it is open, but we always find it more convenient to have breakfast served in our suite by the butler or in the haven courtyard in Jewel class ships by the courtyard butler on disembarkation day.

Decisions, decisions. !! How do you cope with all that tension? I really feel for you

They open a little early for breakfast on the last day. Plenty of time for early disembarkation, concierge will tell you all the appropriate times to ensure you make it all. Because they want everyone off, they will close Cagney's early.

Yes, Cagney's (or Moderno on some ships) is open on the last day for suite guests. It's a bittersweet breakfast as we have to say good bye to the people who have taken such good care of us during our journey.

But then, hopefully plans are in place for the next cruise, so upward and onward.

Enjoy!

I'm with Cruising&Relaxin...an in-suite breakfast on disembarkation day is a great opportunity to thank the Butler and provide a gratuity. By the last day I'm usually too stuffed from the week to eat a big breakfast in Cagney's anyway!

Cagney's does have a buffet table of other choices------cereals, fruits, pastries, etc. Many times, I choose from those If not too hungry.

If you notice though Cagneys does NOT have the entire buffet selection on the last day. I am not a breakfast person so seldom join my DH for breakfast at Cagneys - but do so once or twice over the course of a two week cruise. I was a bit taken aback on the last day when there was very little in the terms of buffet offerings.

Made me a bit sad of course as it was as if they were already "done" with us and just wishing we would get on with our departure in order that they get ready for the next group!

So in order to get even I just get home, unpack and do the laundry and book another cruise!

Bottom line is that Cagneys IS open on debarked day for suite passengers but the buffet is limited. Still the best option for certain. I for one hate bothering the butlers on the last morning as I know how much they have to do to get ready for Thorpe next group of guests. But I have to admit that my family HAS done it when we have had both GV's........

Hmmmm....I wonder if it was just for that time, or if we've been lucky because we've always had the same offerings on the last morning as on the other mornings.

I specifically remember that on our last cruise because I witnessed them cleaning it up at the end of the breakfast hours (they had come to the tables with passengers still eating or sitting there and asked if we were done wth the buffet and we all said yes.) I was shocked to see them throwing everything away except for the things in closed containers like yogurt and cereal. So much waste!

One of the nicer suite perks is being able to have what you LIKE for breakfast without having to rush getting yourself put together in the morning (the butler doesn't care if you've finished putting on your makeup and are still in your robe). We've always found this particularly inviting on disembarkation morning. We always walk our luggage off, so we like to spend time that last morning watching out the balconies as we come into port, enjoying the last views on those balconies, stuffing our last minute gear in the suitcases as we're preparing to fly home, and then our food arrives when it is ready to eat--rather than spending our time walking to the restaurant, ordering, and waiting for it to be prepared.

We are pretty low maintenance, and have never been made to feel we were burdening our butler by eating in. It is usually when we give him our tip and say our goodbyes. It's a relaxing way to end your cruise. That said, it is still the saddest time of our cruise!

Not fleetwide. I have been to Cagney's for breakfast on the last day dozens of times on many ships and the buffet is the same as any other day. Either they forgot or were just being lazy that day for some reason.

Just had my last suite breakfast one week ago today :( and the buffet was the same as it was the first day. We were there when they opened at 0700 and totally alone until we left at 0800!!

While I do like your method of getting even with them, the buffet options ARE the same, but they are frequently pulled-back to behind the galley - that is, they'll serve them to you rather than have them occupy a portion of the dining space. If you want something, just walk to the counter (if you're facing the chefs, it's usually on the left side) and they'll serve.

  • 1 year later...
Just curious if you can be escorted off at any time or does the concierge have set times to take you off the ship upon return?

When we were on the Gem, walk offs met first around 8AM and then people who had given their luggage the night before were an hour later. We met at the theater and waited for the Concierge to let us go.

Just an FYI..as I recal (though I could be wrong!) l, on debarkation day the breakfast menu was shorter...for example no eggs benedict.

I know the crab cake benedict was missing the last day in the Cagney's on the Gem last February. And it's not on the new menu at all (Escape Haven Menu) - now it's seafood benedict. Made me sad. :(
