Latitudes Platinum Question

First, you've looked at the list of benefits at NCL.com, right?

You each get a bag of laundry done for $0 per cruise, and you will also get two free dinners for two (total: one/platinum) at select upcharge restaurants plus a bottle of wine with dinner.

You should also both get a bottle of sparkling wine in the cabin; sometimes that works out and sometimes not. Just ask your cabin steward if you don't get the second one.

You also technically should get 2 tiny boxes of chocolates. . .

I've also read that sometimes people only get one free dinner. No experience myself, just what I've read on CC.

We've been platinum for a few cruises now and have always gotten a dinner for 2 with wine for each of us. Also, the sparkling wine is 1 bottle per cabin. If you get 2 you're lucky.

On our last cruise we only received one bottle. I asked our concierge for a second which we received, but was told we should only have one per room. I can't find it anywhere where it states only 1 per room

I don't remember seeing anything like that mentioned and never have had that happen to us (we've been Platinums since early 2013, so IIRC five cruises as Platinums so far).

At the end of the list: "... Welcome Gift, Chocolate-Covered Strawberries and Sparkling Wine are delivered as one per stateroom. ..."

Thank you. I was aware of the tier level rewards, but not clear about how it works for 2 platinum members. I'll be happy with 2 dinners and 2 bottles of wine, as well as 2 bags of laundry. Maybe we'll get lucky and get 2 bottles of sparkling wine.

NCL "Freestyle" cruising, is a littler easier to understand if you read all the "terms and conditions".

It's not easy, just part of the deal.:)

Once you have tried that sparkling wine you might just revise your opinion - it needs a lot of OJ to make it drinkable...

We have always gotten two dinners for two. Once we were on a cruise that was really two repositioning cruises B/B (Seattle to LA, then LA thru the Canal to Houston. On that cruise, as Platinums, we ended up with 4 free Bistro dinners for two.

I can't remember about the sparkling wine--but we don't like it, and always had a hard time drinking it all up, so we must have gotten two.

DH and I have different last names--maybe that's why we always get two of everything (although we're on a single account, so that doesn't make much sense.)

The bottle of sparkling wine is ONE per cabin...NOT one per platinum member.

the tiny box of chocolates are also ONE per cabin....NOT one per platinum

member.

Also, they no longer are leaving the 'pins' in the cabin so go to guest services and ask for it.

Sometimes I've gotten 2. However, one was for being Platinum and the other had a note from the HD or Casino Host or Captain.

True, but I was talking about Platinum perks.

I've heard that you can ask your cabin steward to switch it to regular wine? Anyone know for sure?

We traded it for a bottle of red wine at one of the bars with no problem. Also did this with a bottle we won at a game.

I wish they could somehow just give "bar credit" as we mainly drink beer and an occasional frozen drink. We are Platinum so we receive one bottle of "bubbly" in the cabin and the two free Le Bistro dinners each include a bottle of wine.

Sometimes, we take them away and give to someone.

Once in a while, I drink some wine and take the rest away in case I might want it.

The chocolates are one small box per cabin. Not each Platinum member.

Check with the restaurant. Most times they will let you get two cocktails instead of the bottle of wine. Two for only you...or one for you and one for your guest.

On our last cruise on the Breakaway we sat next to a couple who brought their complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to dinner & asked if they could exchange it for a "real" bottle of wine!! Their server asked if they wanted white or red wine so they got a bottle of red wine in exchange for their sparkling wine bottle! True story! DW thought they had a lot of gall to do this but as Napoleon said, "L'audace et tojours l'audace!" Takes all kinds, I guess.

As previous posters have stated as Platinum members you get ONE box of Godiva chocolates per stateroom, one bottle of the aforementioned sparkling wine and the complimentary "behind the scenes" tour. If both people in said stateroom are Platinum members (as DW and I both are) you EACH get a complimentary dinner-for-two at LeBistro or a specialty restaurant that costs under $25 plus a bottle of wine during dinner. You each get ONE bag of free laundry for a 7 day cruise and a SECOND bag if the cruise is more than 10 days. We each got TWO bags on the Gem for a 10 day cruise out of NYC a few years back.

Have a great cruise!

Tom
