tbmrt Posted December 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2014 Are sweaters and slacks for ladies usually needed for S. Caribbean cruises (except for embarkation and debakation days) Trying to cut down on packing and seem to remember bringing being really cold on deck especially in the evening. Not sure though. Input appreciated.
Rare Essiesmom Posted December 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2014 Not outside, but some public areas/lounges can be really drafty, so I always bring a shawl or sweater, and in the evening I am usually wearing a long skirt. EM
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2014 I always bring a shawl with me on cruises. You just never know where you might find a chilly space on the ship.
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2014 You never know if you will get chilly inside or outside the ship. Keith
Calgon1 Posted December 10, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) Sounds wierd (then again, I'm known for that) but, DON'T bring camouflage clothing - Actually illegal in many Caribbean countries (unless you are in their military or law enforcement)! https://www.google.com/search?q=camouflage+clothing+prohibiled+in+caribbean+countries&hl=en&gbv=2&oq=&gs_l= Edited December 10, 2014 by Calgon1
cb at sea Posted December 10, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2014 You will not need long pants and sweaters in the S. Caribbean, no matter what time of year. Bear in mind that the ship has AC...some find it cool, but I've never, ever needed the wrap I always bring....better safe than sorry....but it's never been used! And yes...Camo is NOT something you want to bring to other countries...they do NOT appreciate it!
Floridiana Posted December 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2014 You need slacks or a skirt for the dining room on most ships. No shorts. I am also in the shawl league. ;)
Guest maddycat Posted December 11, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 11, 2014 I'm usually cold in the ac on the ship. I wear slacks in the evening and always have a sweater with me.
paul929207 Posted December 11, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 11, 2014 My wife finds the inside of the ship to be cool. She always has a shawl or sweater with her.
YubaSutter Posted December 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted December 11, 2014 90% of the time, I wore shorts and a tank top during the cruise. 10% of the time, I put on long pants and a shirt for meals.
OCruisers Posted December 11, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 11, 2014 In the Southern Caribbean it's always VERY warm when outdoors! Inside the ship the a/c does get too cold in public areas so long pants and sweaters are nice to have along with you. ;) LuLu

In Barbados, depending on time of year, the coolest nighttime temperature is likely to be about mid-sixties Fahrenheit. I'd have thought that might be a little cool for a Florida lady.
