Your Favorite Part Of Your Balcony

What is your favorite part of having a balcony? We like drinking glasses of wine and having an appetizer on our balcony in the late afternoon. Recently our favorite thing to do is to bring the chairs and table inside and move our mattress out on the balcony floor so we can sleep outside and hear the waves crash. Our steward probably thinks we are crazy when he puts it back in the morning :eek:!

Why? We pay for the tips. The sheets need to be changed anyways because they get very wet from the humidity and sea breeze.

That is why we drag our mattress outside :).

Do you only book balcony state rooms?

Our category of first choice is a Junior Suite. If that's too expensive, and we really want to go on the cruise, then we book a D/E balcony or an OV.

Like you, we like the LARGE view from the glass doors. We seldom actually sit on our balcony but like being able to walk directly outside from our cabin anytime we wish. :)

I love being able to watch as we pull into port in the morning without going up on deck. Sailing into Valletta, Malta was stunning and I felt like I had a front row seat!

On a cruise we took in 2007. My Mom and I sat on the balcony while my 2 years old son took a nap. It was pure relaxation. I love it.

Likely nothing worse than the incontinent 400 lb people who stayed in the room before us ;).

I was actually wondering about that when I read that. My balcony is typically wet in the mornings, I was wondering if it would make the mattress moldy?

Like others I like watching the ships come into port from the balcony. I typically book starboard side as more often than not, the ships dock that way.

My favorite thing about having a balcony is being able to go outside and feel the fresh air. Yes,I know this can be done on a deck but it feels so much better on a balcony.

We love to sit on our balcony while in port enjoy breakfast or lunch and people/boat watch. On sea days it's my favorite spot to read my kindle and just relax

I love to sit, read, and sip some wine. Dh loves to watch the ship dock and then leave a port.

Just off Oasis, with Central Park balcony.

What we loved was looking down on greenery, listening to Sweet Sounds Duo and watching sky overhead--a unique cruise experience

I have fallen asleep on the loungers in the Grand Suite more than once. It is totally relaxing, and is much better than falling asleep on deck.

Also just walking out in my pajamas in the AM and smelling the air makes it worthwhile.
