  1. It depends on where the casino is located and how you get to the dining room. When I was on the Westerdam, our group was on the lower level of the dining room and the easiest way to get there from where we usually hung out before dinner without going up and down stairs or an elevator was to walk through it. Even when it wasn't open, the stench remained. Also when I've been on RCCL ships with a smoking section in the casino, the smoke stench drifts out. The owner of the travel agency I use was recently on the Norwegian Prima and they actually did what should have been the procedure from the start - the smoking area is in its own CLOSED room so that the stench remains in there.
  2. Which is why you really should bring your own if you're going to pay money to go on a vacation that you know will make you sick. (I don't get it. I LOVE cruising, but if it made me sick, I'd find other vacation options rather than put chemicals into my body just so I could cruise. I'm clearly weird in that though given the number of people who know they get seasick and cruise anyway.)
  3. Oh. Sorry. I thought it was a Captain's Club card they were talking about since this is about the Captain's Club Power Up Points.
  4. It's pretty simple... Some people like IVs, some people don't like them. Very few seem to be indifferent - even if they never tried them. No one is convincing anyone to switch sides just from "discussing". If you don't want to sail in an IV, book a different category on ships that have them OR book on ships without them. If you like them, book them. Clearly they are getting good enough feedback (coupled with the added efficiency due to reduced drag caused by regular balconies) if they are now adding ships company-wide. But there are plenty of ship options for those have tried them and who don't like them or who just won't try them.
  5. Is there a reason you NEED a card with your number on it?? I've never been given one and since your number is online I'm curious why you'd need one?
  6. I believe CVS and Walgreens are still doing them. Or CityMD. Or there are still LabQ vans (and others - I just trust LabQ) around on various streets in main tourist areas to get tests done.
  7. THIS is primarily why I like the beverage package. I like having it paid for up front and not having to do math on the ship to stick to a budget.
  8. I loved the decor. And the servers I had there made sure I was happy and well taken care of. The other dining rooms were ok, but there was just something extra about the service in Tuscan. Definitely felt 100% safe being gluten-free in there. One of the others...I think Cosmopolitan?...had two different entrees with the same protein and my server wrote down the wrong one that definitely had gluten-filled stuff in it. I noticed it as soon as it came out and got it switched, but I was very clear in what I ordered. I changed my second scheduled night in there (I had Select and had reserved 2 nights in each and did Eden for one night) to Tuscan to avoid any mix up like that.
  9. Also if you leave the door to that cabinet open a bit so air can circulate.
  10. OMG. I would have jumped overboard just to get away from them!!
  11. I didn't specifically ask - my issue is a wheat allergy that shows up as slight wheezing in my lungs and aggrivation of my reactive airway if I have a cold or allergies (something that completely disappeared when I went gluten-free to avoid wheat), so I don't stress AS much about cross contamination as if I had celiac. But if I remember correctly, when I was on Edge (Feb 2020 just before the world shut down), I just got lettuse from the toppings area and asked for a cheeseburger patty no bun.
  12. IDK about other lines, but Disney does allow you to carry water on board AND they have a water package.
  13. Highly doubtful this is true. I cannot imagine at least 20 people (3 per ship plus this on vacation) being stupid enough to take a job with no guarantee of any money.
  14. Yeah...I know it's going to be a while before I can do a cruise or any trip to that area, so I just put it on and half listened while I did other things. Nothing really lost if we don't get the points.
  15. I'm in the US and was able to watch it from the link posted here. I didn't get an email. No email, but I "watched" it from here. Signed on and went about my business while it played.
  16. I always pack what I can as I use it so the last day is just all the last minute stuff. Makes for a much more enjoyable final day!
  17. If you do an excursion that is sailing, snorkeling, and sea flap flaps, are you allowed to stay on the boat during the flap flap part? I have ZERO desire to intentionally jump in the water with them, but I love being on the water.
  18. "New crew" does not necessarily mean just hired and trained. While there could be some, there could also be crew returning from vacations and such.
  19. I was completely surprised that Celebrity didn't dedicate one of the pods in the Ocean View Cafe to gluten-free foods. Royal does in the Windjammer, so I figured it would be the same with X since they're under the same corporate umbrella. Granted that doesn't keep people with biscuits and such on their plates from going over there - saw some kids drop a biscuit (like an actual biscuit, not a cookie) on the bacon at the gf pod on Royal one morning then pull it off...but for some that would have been Trouble - I immediately got the attention of the crew member in the pod and told him what happened and he immediately removed the pan and replaced it with a clean one. I also found that some things were labeled gf when they weren't - or more that the labeling wasn't consistent in that some times the allergens listed on the label card were what was in there and others what wasn't but no consistency. So I started just asking if I had questions. (What I do with zero issues on Disney - I get a walk-through with a supervisor in the buffet area, they record what I'd like, and have a clean plate made up in the back. Easy peasy.) I had no issues in the main dining rooms or in Eden when I had dinner there. As for the grill, I opted for a lettuce wrap - saved the calories and the inevitable crumbling to bits before I'm done of gf buns.
