  1. Same here. The only time I received a random discount was when I had 3 or less booked.
  2. Bottles of Acqua Panna and Pellegrino are available to buy onboard and are included in the premium plus plan
  3. What Is a Cruise Ship Godmother (or Godfather)? - Should Be Cruising
  4. I was on the Jewel at Maltings and the bartender would offer glasses of bar mix and glasses of dried fruit. I learned the fruit pairs very well with Macallan 🙂
  5. There is no food menu but on Prima, there is a section of the buffet that is conveniently located right inside the Vibe entry door. There are no dining tables in Vibe. Vibe isn't really meant to be a party spot. The music from the pool deck DJ is not piped in up there. I do know some people bring a speaker to play music by their lounger. I've never heard any play it loud enough that you would hear it if you weren't in the immediate vicinity. But I don't know how acceptable/encouraged that is. But it's still fun, if you want to have fun, even without music. There tends to be a lively group of regulars that you'll see every day. So if you want to hang and socialize, there's that. But there is plenty of quiet space also if you want to relax.
  6. prior to my 1st cruise in 2019, I stumbled across a site that showed the percentage of obstruction and it helped me choose my obstructed cabin that had views mostly between the lifeboats instead of directly at. This was on a carnival ship and I can't remember if it had other lines. I didn't bookmark it though. 😞
  7. @latebuyer Compare the deck plans. I remember when Encore was build, the lack of free deck space was a complaint. I don't know how Epic compares, but that's something I'd look for on a Caribbean cruise.
  8. I think Breakaway is an awesome ship for the Caribbean, mostly because it has the free Spice H2O sundeck section if you want an adult only area.
  9. There's also the chicken salad sandwich and hot dog.
  10. After the dinner menu ends, there is a limited late night menu that is great for putting something on your stomach after drinking all night. personally speaking 🙂
  11. I'd say pick the earliest time you expect to make. Why pick a 9AM slot if you're planning on arriving at the port at 10:30.
  12. I might get a lot of flak for this, but I did a Panama Canal crossing and found it just meh. I definitely appreciate the history and engineering behind it, and I truly think it's a marvel. But all I could think was I'm just watching water rise and fall. I did get a cool pic of the different water levels of the lock and the ocean beyond it though.
  13. My experience has been that I was unable to pay to upgrade from a sailaway rate cabin. I needed to cancel and rebook at the current rate.
  14. I was able to add a Vibe pass to my reservation for my Nov 2024 Viva sailing via Chat this morning. $319 for a 16 day sailing.
  15. Yes. You can cancel prior to embarkation and get a refund.
  16. @KarenRB Try taking a look at the Nov 2024 Viva TA from Lisbon to Puerto Rico. It's a southerly route and it seems like a unique itinerary that stops in Morocco.
  17. I liked Prima enough that I booked 2 cruises on Viva, one of which is a 16 day TA.
  18. People still chair hog in Vibe. I've seen them "claim" seats at the bar as well as the regular loungers.
  19. It's very easy to book the shows using the app and the screens onboard. They even tell you how many seats are available. I attended Cool which was a 70s/60's music tribute and it was amazing and the Rock show in the carousel Lounge. It is NOT like a cirque show but still very entertaining. There are a few aerial tricks and the two strong balancing guys are worth the entire price of admission. I missed the rock show in the main theater but I heard that was amazing as well. There was a magic act that performed 2 nights, the Conjurers, I enjoyed them. You should be able to google them to see if you'd like them. They've been on TV a lot.
  20. Maybe I've been fortunate, but my calls to MSC have been fine. I just called today to have my Voyagers number added to the October cruise. Total call time was 7 min 53 seconds.
  21. I know you asked Jaimie but getting an Uber was a mess because GPS coordinates for the terminal don't direct the cars INSIDE. They have to look for the ship and just drive towards it. lol Also, it seems to take you around a big loop if you miss the entrance. It took 2 phone calls to my driver and me basically standing in the street to see him and allow him to see me when he did. I did self walk off around 7:30. Uber shows I placed my order at 8:11 once I was outside. It's never taken me that long to get off a ship.
  22. I was on the 11/19/22 sailing and did not receive any letter.
  23. ah ok. i have to remember that I can get non-alcoholic drinks. I was so disappointed that I had to pay cash for my bloody mary. lol
  24. Mostly the decor. The Manhattan room is the more formal of the 3 and will sometimes allow customers to dance on their dancefloor (ballroom type)
  25. I was on a Bermuda cruise that had 2 overnights. We had to leave early the third morning instead of later that afternoon as scheduled because a storm was coming. The captain announced it the night before. I always wondered how they contacted the people that were staying off of the ship.
