  1. We’ve visited London many times, but we’ve never used this transfer. We’ve also taken tours out of Victoria Coach Station and have two booked pre cruise again this year. So familiar with the station. Hotel is not too far. I’ve read here it was a great experience, but I’ve also read reports of chaos. So. I would love to hear any more reports? Cruise departs on a Friday. Are you assigned a departure time or do you just show up? Ty
  2. We were looking at Olden Cruises, but our port times don't work. 0700-1600. The earliest we can finish the Briksdal Glacier SE is 1300. So arriving at the Skylift at 1330 or later doesn’t give us much of a cushion to get back to the ship ontime. I am reading the lines can be very long, both at the Skylift and the buses. Similarly, trying to reverse the order doesn’t work either. I think our departure time might have been later, but was changed. There was an option to book both excursions though the cruise line, but the afternoon SE retuned 30 minutes after the ships departure. I pointed this out, hoping it was just an error, but that SE was then removed from the website.
  3. Take the light rail into the main train station. The Cobh station is by the waterfront, easy to find. Taxis are available at the Cork Train station. The English Market is very nice. There is a hop on hop off, but we’ve never done that, https://www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/station/cobh
  4. Hi does anyone have any thoughts for a company called Uniktur? It seems to be based in Alesund. We are looking to use them for Olden. I don’t see any reviews for the Shore Excursion offered in Olden, but I do see reviews for SEs in Alesund. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance. Here is the website. https://uniktur.com/shore-excursion-in-olden/
  5. I think the I think the OP & others are in the UK or EU. Some rules/laws are different.
  6. Hello, how did this turn out for you? Were you able to do both excursions? Were there long lines to hue for the buses and the Cable cars? Ty.
  7. Not sure if this helps… we were in an aft penthouse deck 10, starboard side on the Enchanted(sister ship) sailing back to NYC from Canada trying to skirt Hurricane Fiona. I don’t remember much motion in the cabin, although the hangers in the closet made a lot of racket, we had to move them and take some down. We did notice motion down on deck 5. This lasted about 36 hours. The ocean was pretty angry. We don’t get sick easily, but carry Scopolamine patches anyway and use them as a precaution.
  8. Wonderful pictures, thank you. So this stop is the best for viewing penguins and we should request a booking with Estancia soon for 2025?
  9. I’m following your posts as we booked this trip for 2025. Sending you wishes for feeling better before you travel.
  10. @wallyj is correct, upgrade eligibility depends on the fare class(denoted by a Letter), with some classes ineligible for upgrades. As he explains there are fare classes within the cabin classes. This sometimes includes deeply discounted third party fares such as EZAir. It can be very complicated. If you can’t find the fare class on your booking, call United and ask. But it sounds as if you might have a fare class that isn’t eligible for an upgrade. United has gone to a waitlist program for flights to and from Europe. For example: From Premium Plus to Business you pay a certain fee each flight way or segment, ($425.00 I think) plus miles(15,000 or 20,000); and you're placed on a waitlist. If you don't clear, your miles and money are refunded. Not sure what are the differences with a Star Alliance partner, but the article below might be of some help. I also find it’s odd that one person can upgrade unless maybe that one person is a 1K premier? But even that doesn’t make sense. Not sure. Here is the article. https://www.united.com/en/us/fly/mileageplus/benefits/star-alliance-upgrade-awards.html Click on the mileage award link in the article for more information on your destination. Another suggestion is to fly over in business class(as this is an overnight flight) and back in Premium Plus. We are trying this is May. The fare is much cheaper. We haven’t decided if we will waitlist the flight back or stay in Premium Plus. We usually fly out of SFO, so understand the long flights. By the way, if your flight is eligible, you should be able to see the upgrade offer (miles+money-waitlist) in your booking, using your UA 6 character booking confirmation code.
  11. I’ve seen Coke Lite at stores in Europe. Can’t remember if I saw it onboard the ships in Europe though, slightly different. https://delishably.com/beverages/Why-I-love-Coke-Lite-Coke-Lite-vs-Diet-Coke
  12. The medallions are shipped from overseas, (China is one place). You may or may not see tracking until the medallions reach the US. Then they are sent to a central shipping location, (or two) and finally to your local post office who delivers them. All this saves Princess money and doesn’t seem to be because of the USPS.
  13. We sailed in S108 on the Enchanted last year. It was awesome. The expansive views, just WOW.
  14. Tap on the thread you copied above; tap on the green “C”
  15. Shipping is free with the package, for full suites, as well as, any other type of cabin, but my experience in a suite without the package is a $10.00 charge.
  16. Every time I’ve tried to order the medallions, there has been a charge. Have you actually ordered them and not been charged (if traveling in a suite)? Does the charge actually disappear after you hit submit?
  17. We cruised to Iceland and Norway this summer. We had a fabulous time. We used Iceland Everywhere for Reykavick, Grundarfjordur and Akurekri. Wonderful trips every day. We are researching some of the new Greenland cruises from the east coast or Canada. Although you can never predict the weather we booked mid summer to “try” and avoid nasty weather. Not a guarantee at all, though. I understand about the long trips from California. The good part is that many airlines serve SFO-LHR, LAX-LHR, or even SAN-LHR, so many choices. We’ve tried a few different things over the past several years. Business class is a wonderful way to travel, but it is expensive or requite many airline points. Many of the airlines now have a Premium cabin which is a bit cheaper. It’s more like an old business class with reclining seats. We have also flown to NYC; then a day or two later, caught one of the 6/ 7 hour DAY flights departing around 0830 and arriving about 2000 at LHR. UA flies out of EWR; AA and BA have flights out of JFK. This spring we are flying SFO- UA Polaris class over and Premium Plus on the return. I usually book EZ air flights, but often cancel when I find a good fare on the airlines website. Premier Inn is a budget hotel chain in the UK, with some prime London locations. Haven’t used them, but have used points for stays at Marriott and Hilton. I am watching now for cyber hotels sales in May for London. Good luck with your decision. Edit: I sure there could be more airports in CA with direct flights. I know of the three I mentioned as I’ve used them before.
  18. Interesting… glad you got your medallions and off you go.
  19. @azbirdmomand @IndyKid I’ve received items from 4PX USA Express. It is a Chinese shipping company. The items did come directly from China. Can’t remember if Bensenville was a shipping stop. I also don’t remember if it was medallions or Amazon(more likely) I do live in California. Upon googling Bensenville, I discovered it is very close to ORD, in fact that is its “claim to fame”. These are my thoughts. So @azbirdmom ‘s medallions were shipped air freight to ORD from outside the US, probably on the next available flight to the US; then shipped(air or maybe even ground), to a Los Angeles to a USPS distribution center. This is about cost(for Princess) and efficiency(for 4PX express). USPS will make the final delivery. It may not make sense to us, but does for the parties involved. @IndyKid I Would be interested to see the routing on your medallions. This topic is interesting. But it also means I probably order too much stuff online. LOL. .
  20. Aloha, @YehootuGo with Iceland Everywhere. We did three excursions with Siggi. Reykjavik, Akureyri and Grundarfjordur. Very enjoyable days. He is excellent. We paid about a month out, but you could pay that day. He offered a discount for booking all three. Tours filled up in February for our July cruise. At Grundarfjordur, One couple didn’t make it off in time due to the issues with immigration clearance and only one tender working. Siggi refunded them. This was on the Island. Agree, the price Princess gave you of $128.00 was probably a mistake on their part as I think IET charges about that. I didn’t say it was right, however. I thought of him this week as the news of the evacuations on the Reykajnes Peninsula. Someone had asked him about where people would go in the event of evacuations. (The volcano was erupting then, but the situation wasn’t as serious as it is now). He said people would take everyone in, of course. No one would be without a place to stay. He seemed shocked that people would stay in a shelter. Strong Ohana in Iceland. https://www.icelandeverywhere.is/destination/golden-circle-kerid-crater-shore-excursion/
  21. So sorry to read this. We boarded this Cruise In Copenhagen and saw you two quite often, having a great time. Best wishes to you both.
  22. I believe Princess uses a shipping service(s) as an intermediary that sends the medallions to your local post office who completes the final delivery. Location doesn’t matter as much as when a shipment leaves for you area of the country. Hence you might see your order “stuck in California”. Once USPS receives your package, delivery is quick. I know UPS offers this type of service- UPS Sure Post.
  23. There is room for the sofa bed to open, but it butts up against a piece of built in cabinetry when open. You can walk around it by going through the bedroom or hop over. Although the bathroom has two entrances, the second entrance is in the living room instead of the bedroom. So you do have to go into the living room to get to the bathroom from the bedroom. Not the usual Princes set up. It’s an odd shaped cabin, but was very nice. There are three sliding glass doors to the 2 separate balconies. Plus a walk in closet. I think all the oddities are due to the the changes made to the Island years ago. If the configuration is not what you want have it changed.
