  1. Since I am only in need of a one way back to PDX, I did not check roundtrip out of SEA...I was just noting that for our one way in October, using the change in HNL was much less expensive than flying JAL with a change of planes in SEA, SFO or LAX. It sounds like you have a much better option out of SEA roundtrip,
  2. yes - we have to change planes somewhere for PDX....JAL/HA around $1800.00 pp, , JAL - around $4500.00.. be sure to choose the flight between HNL - TYO that is operated by JAL as HA also has non stop flights too.
  3. For 1/2 the price, I can change planes in HNL.....
  4. Luckily you have found other places that provide you with options you prefer and for those of us that love the options offered at the bakery -- everyone has a choice!
  5. We are looking at a cruise on Riviera that ends in Japan....found a great one way business class fare on Hawaiian Air that is using JAL equipment between Tokyo and Honolulu, change planes and then HA equipment between HNL and PDX .......
  6. Not mentioned in this update from O
  7. Well, on our Antarctica expedition cruise we skipped the Falklands to scurry across the Drake Passage ahead of a big storm....weather was iffy at the Falklands so no guarantee we would be able to tender in and Captain made the decision to skip and steam on. I will take the Captain's assessment of the seas rather than an arm chair quarterback back home in their easy chair.
  8. On our Vista cruises the Barrista/bakery area was in high demand and the tables and chairs were full most of the day...people were enjoying both the offerings from the bakery and barristas. When the menu changed between breakfast and lunch at the bakery there was a line. The only time we were able to walk in and easily find a place to sit was mid/late afternoon. It filled back up when it switched to wine and appetizers in the evening. We often had breakfast/brunch there on days when a smaller meal with a view and a delicious coffee from barristas was perfect versus the larger Terrace or Waves. We did love Aquamar for breakfast/lunch too and sometimes would grab a goodie from there and take it up to barristas to add to the items from there and enjoy the view! Just a different reaction to barristas/bakery .......
  9. The post was quoting what a TA posted that they received from O ......the particular site on this specific social media is run by a TA so he post communications he receives from O. O did not post the cancelation on social media...I would check with your TA as O did send out emails to those affected.
  10. So your opinion of TA's is based upon one experience with one TA... my experience, just one of many, is we book 1 cruise a year, not in a suite, no air and receive perks, excellent communication and happily rebook when a sale. We found our TA many years ago by talking with fellow cruisers while onboard a cruise - not difficult and not mythical. We understand your aversion to booking with a TA and I respect your choice that works for you but do not disparage others who also have found a choice that works for them..
  11. Cry me a river.......I know who it is!
  12. Can you please post the link where the pricing for the 2026 Vista cruise is posted...TIA
  13. SM didn't start unitl 01OCT23 so you are correct only one log in at the time you sailed. Since you mentioned that you were booked under OLife and not SM, I assumed you sailed after SM took effect.
  14. Actually when SM started every stateroom received 2 log ins whether you were sailing under OLife, cruise only or SM. We sailed on VISTA in October and November with OLife and had 2 log ins. Each person in the cabin needed to set up their own log in. You could not just use the same log in. Too bad you were unaware,
  15. We are talking about VISTA and there are no PH on Deck 12 on VISTA - Concierge Verandah, Vista Suites and Oceania Suites....
  16. Nothing from above, either side or the hallway - have booked the same for a couple future cruises. We don't use the lounge, just go to Baristas for our morning fix!
  17. They generally appear a few weeks before sailing. Since it is the end of a B2B2B, you will see it while onboard.
  18. We had a cabin on Deck 12 - cabins on both sides and didn't hear a peep....and so close to everything!!!
  19. No confusion at all on our Vista cruise - your cabin card has the indication of a beverage package if you have one....no different than pre SM when some Olife people chose the beverage package, some people purchased the Select package and some people purchased/upgraded to the prestige package. There is a 3 letter code on the bottom right corner of your card.....often the server would ask if we had a beverage package prior to our first drink. After a day or two, they knew we did and did not even ask...we just put our cards on the corner of our table so easy for the server to see and take if they needed.
  20. Also important for learning all the upgrading and new options available to make our cruising experience even better than it has been...
  21. Our experience on tendering on O is when you are ready to go ashore all of your party goes to the lounge (generally) and get your tender ticket. Only one person needs to actually get in line while others sit. If you are on an O excursion, there will be a time on your excursion ticket that tells you what time to be at the lounge to get your tender ticket for that specific excursion. We have never encountered a line with more than 20 people in line (and this was at the beginning of tendering when there are several shore excursions leaving at the same time). There are at lest 2-3 people handing out the tender tickets so the line goes very quickly. Once you have your tender ticket, you sit in the lounge until your tender ticket number is called. Then you head down to the tender and board, Usually an hour or two after the start of tendering, they announce open tendering and you no longer go to the lounge to get a ticket but just go down to the tenders and get on. This procedure keeps people from forming lines up the stairs waiting to get on a tender.....
