  1. I bring a portable lighted makeup mirror so I can put on makeup and do my hair without straining these old eyes.
  2. I am the OP. I just wanted to confirm what I thought was right about cancelling the standing reservation for the evening if I might go to another restaurant. But on the other hand I would not presume to just walk in to the table I had the previous night without checking in with the hostess.
  3. Why doesn't NCL refund port charges if they do not dock there? In January we went on a RCI cruise and missed two ports. We were refunded (some?) of our port charges.
  4. We will be on the Enchanted 11/5 and there is no menu for Gigi s on my personalizer. Says only has pizza.
  5. We have 4 who want to play on the 11/5 Enchanted cruise but no one wants to schlep a set.
  6. We will be on the Enchanted for 14 nights Nov. 5th. Other than our one Crown Grill reservation, we made reservations for the MDR at the same time every night. If we decide to go somewhere else for dinner, do we have to cancel the reservation for that night?
  7. On our Breakaway cruise last September, 2021 we decided to book a balcony sailaway. We got a cabin all the way forward on deck 8, overlooking the shuffleboard game on deck 7. If we could see them I'm sure they could see us. And it was a very looooong walk to the stairs and elevators. So we asked to switch cabins. They said not until after sailaway. We were very lucky and they moved us to a cabin on deck 10 near the aft elevators. Will not book a sailaway cabin again.
  8. Can you check if they have mah jong sets and let me know? We are on in two weeks. There are 4 of us who would like to play but no one wants to lug a set on a plane.
  9. I like aft near elevators as well. Close to most dining venues.
  10. The first experience I ever had with MSC was when we booked the Fantasia out of Barcelona for April, 2022 which was to be one day after arriving on a TA on the NCL Epic. For several months I kept checking if any excursions were opening for this med cruise. Then one day when I was checking on their website I found out that this cruise was changed to the MSC Opera and that the date of sailing was to be one week later. I was stunned. Called my TA immediately and she also had no notice of it but she cancelled it with MSC. Took several weeks to get my deposit refunded. Swore I would never book MSC again. Then when I heard that the Meraviglia was coming to the NY area I got interested again. Looked at all the different itineraries and found one in October, 2023 that was doing an 11 day western caribbean rather than the usual eastern and southern caribbean cruises that NCL and RCI do out of the NY/NJ area. So I booked it. Just the thought of not having to fly anywhere was incentive enough. I even got the voyagers club discount which I applied to on the original MSC cruise that I cancelled.
  11. This might be off topic but I have a regular refundable rate for a June, 2023 cruise. Early saver rate is approximately $50 less per person. Can I switch it to early saver right before final payment?
  12. How long before the show did you arrive at Syd's? How many people on your cruise? We are cruising the Getaway in February.
  13. If you book 1 phone internet before cruise it is $10/day. On board is $15/day.
  14. We too had a complimentary dinner for two on a cruise in 2019. You had to bring the coupons in your cabin with you and give them to your waiter . We didn't and were charged. Had to go to customer service to get it removed. We have another complimentary dinner next month and was able to book on the app with no charge to our cc.
  15. I booked through a TA. On my confirmation it says late dining. No exact time. Does this mean they can change it to early dining?
  16. Yes we had the credit plus the platinum discount of 10%. Our final payment was $90 for the two of us.
  17. So I've had a very irritating experience using this offer. I had paid in full my Feb. cruise on a different credit card. Two weeks later this offer came out and I immediately put it on my Amex everyday card. Then called my TA and asked her if NCL would be able to change the credit card so I can use this offer, She called NCL and the person she spoke to said yes. I gave her my Amex cc# and got the "congratulations" email from Amex. So now waiting for the credit on the original card. Five days later I got an email from Amex that they are crediting back my purchase through NCL. TA calls NCL again to ask why and this time they told her she got misinformation and you can only change credit cards up to 48 hours. Two days later the statement credit of $350 was removed. We called Amex ourselves to see if this offer would be put back on our account and they told us yes. So far it wasn't. We have opened up an inquiry through Amex but have not yet heard anything. I would have liked to use this for another cruise or OBC but I'm afraid I have lost this offer for good.
  18. We all want to vent when things don't go as planned. Maybe now that the OP has vented he might feel better and plan his next cruise.
  19. I can't believe how expensive it is to fly to Europe. I'm booked on my second ever Carnival cruise in May and have been checking their Fly to Fun prices which seems the same as EZAir. In August they were $1000 rt for 2 less than United. I thought the prices would come down because that was 9 months away so I waited. They did start to drop for several weeks and last week there was only about a $500 difference. This week their flexible price was no longer available and their non refundable price was more than the United website.
  20. Just remember the excursion may be more money once on the ship. We booked an excursion on line at $80pp and on board it was $130pp.
  21. On our cruise last month I found the excursion desk extremely helpful. In Halifax we waited over 2 hours standing on a line to get the stickers for the hoho bus purchased through NCL. Meanwhile people were boarding immediately who had just purchased tickets at the port. We spoke very nicely to the excursion desk. They apologized and gave us back half the price. In addition sent a cheese tray and a bottle of wine to our cabin.
  22. When you mentioned Philip from Survivor I thought of the crazy guy running around the island in orange tidy whities. He was a love/hate contestant for us Survivor fans. The cave reminds me of the cave tubing we did on Belize. We didn't go swimming. Just tubing and it was a lot of fun. We are going to Bermuda again in February with NCL. Yes I know it may be cold but don't intend to do any water excursions. Just may visit Crystal Caves or Aquarium. We got a real deal on this. Looking forward to the rest of your adventure.
  23. I think Cinema was insulted by some of the posts and will not come back. I for one was looking forward to his comparisons.
