  1. Anytime between now and November 5th. You won’t be notified, so just go into your planner periodically and check to see whether your cabin has been assigned.
  2. It probably had to do with the brawls we have read about lately. My favorite pet peeve lately with more families onboard is children running through the ship without regard for elderly people using canes and walkers. Sometimes it looks like a recipe for disaster.
  3. I haven’t been to NYC since the pandemic. What’s the going price of hot dogs at the corner stands?
  4. Once on-line check-in is open, you will select your arrival time. That isn’t the same as boarding time. Boarding varies and you won’t know till you’re at the terminal, checked in and sitting in the waiting room.
  5. Yes, technically if you bring the actual wine bottle into the MDR they’re supposed to charge the corkage fee.
  6. On a recent Splendor cruise, we poured wine from the bottle into an empty water bottle and took it into the dining room, stopping along the way to ask a bar attendant for an empty wine glass. We were discreet about pouring the wine from water bottle to glass, and nothing was said.
  7. I have recently been on the Pride and Splendor and they gave $25.00 cash from the casino cage. It could be used in the casino, but doesn’t have to be. You can keep it if you want.
  8. Cove balconies are very popular, in part because being on deck 2 they are closer to the water than higher balconies. It’s not bad being under the restaurant, but avoid being under the galley. The restaurant itself is carpeted and not in operation during the time people are normally sleeping, but not so with the galley.
  9. If there hasn’t been a roll call started yet, you could start one.
  10. That’s what I thought too. It’s not a time-saver if you have to get the email code each time you sign in. That’s what happened to me also. I’ll stick with the password.
  11. You have to make a reservation on the Hub app. I have seen people just show up, and the staff at the restaurant either helped the person make their reservation on the app or went ahead and made it on their computer. They greatly appreciate those who have made their reservation before showing up.
  12. The last two cruises I have taken, when I left laundry out in the morning it came back the following morning.
  13. The Deluxe OV cabins are great when there are 2+ people in the room. The second bathroom has a sink and a “junior tub” with shower. No toilet. The tub isn’t big enough for most adults to stretch out in, but it would be good for traveling with children.
  14. Only you can decide whether you “have” to have a balcony. I am booked on the Panorama in January in a 4J cabin (interior with walkway view) and will be very happy to be in that room. A balcony is a plus but I wouldn’t pay an extra $1000 to have it.
  15. I have been cruising on Carnival for a long time, and I have only gotten 1 upgrade offer. It was a “lame” offer, for just about $20 less than the price I could have gotten without the upgrade offer. I don’t ever book a cabin hoping for an upgrade because it probably won’t happen.
  16. I was on the Splendor last month and they had the regular fries. Same with the Pride a couple of months ago.
  17. It has to be in cans. I just checked “Google” and it shows Gatorade being available in cans at Walmart and other places.
  18. Does Gatorade come in cans? If so, you could bring it. No bottles can be brought onboard.
  19. Another option is to purchase eMed proctored testing kits ahead of time and test at your hotel in Rome. The proctors are available 24/7 and all that’s required is wifi and a device that has a camera, speaker and microphone.
  20. You also can select whether you want a shared table. If not, you’ll get a table for just your party.
  21. I always request no towel animals, not to save the steward time, but because they don’t add anything to my cruising experience.
  22. Carnival doesn’t count the hours, just the days. The test must be 3 calendar days prior to the cruise, not 72 hours.
