  1. I’m very sorry to hear about your accident and that you have to cancel your cruise. You can cancel your cruise on-line, but then you’ll need to initiate a claim against your Carnival insurance. Taxes and port fees, prepaid tips, and other pre-purchased items will be automatically refunded. The travel insurance should cover your cruise fare, and unfortunately you will lose your OBC. I believe you need to wait till Carnival’s customer service line opens to get information about how to start the insurance claim.
  2. I got off the Splendor in Seattle on 7/12. They called self-assist by muster station, and partway through they started calling luggage tag numbers at the same time. By the time they had gotten to luggage tag #15, they finally called muster station D, which I believe was the last one. Shortly thereafter they called all luggage tag numbers. The result was a seemingly endless line snaking through the ship. We were among the highest luggage tag numbers, and we were off the ship at about 9:35.
  3. I just got off the Splendor on 7/12. The temperature inside was comfortable, neither hot nor cold, probably 68 degrees or so. The exception is the main theater, which was cold enough to need a sweater for some performances. The Alaska weather for my cruise was not the greatest, but it didn’t keep me from enjoying it. Temperatures were around 55 to 60 with overcast skies in Sitka and Juneau. Ketchikan was steady rain, wind and cold. I didn’t get off in Ketchikan, but people I spoke with said they were very cold and drenched when they got back on the ship.
  4. I used it for the first time on my recent Splendor cruise out of Seattle. At the first “check point” upon entering the terminal, they just looked at Verifly and sent me upstairs to check in. At check in, the agent still wanted to see my negative covid test printout. It did save time and I will use it again.
  5. I just got off the Splendor this morning, and I’m happy to say that Masala Tiger IS open for lunch!
  6. Good to hear. I’m using VeriFly tomorrow and hope it works that way for me.
  7. Only one device can be connected to the wifi at the same time. So if DH is using it on the tablet, you can’t use it on the phone. The Carnival Hub app doesn’t require an internet plan, so it would be fine if you used that on your phone while DH is using the tablet. If you signed into wifi for anything else on the phone, it would sign him off. The Value Plan should work well for what you want it to do. DH would be able to do email and surfing, but no streaming. That would require the premium plan. Hope this helps.
  8. Kids are allowed to go to Bonsai Teppanyaki and as far as I know they pay full price. It would probably be fine for the 11 year old, but the 6 year old might be a little young for the Teppanyaki experience IMHO.
  9. 75% of the cruise fare. Taxes, port charges, prepaid tips and anything you have purchased, like specialty meals beverage package, etc., will be refunded.
  10. I have never heard of being able to reserve a table ahead of time. Your best bet is to go to the dining room the afternoon of embarkation and speak with the maitre’d. They usually open for that around 1:00 or so.
  11. Walgreens in our area is only testing symptomatic people and those who have had close exposure to infected people. Same with the other pharmacies in our town. I’m relying on eMed testing for my July 5th cruise.
  12. I was in a balcony cabin that didn’t have the upgraded lamps. It had one 220v outlet and one 110V. I always take a non-surge protected extension cord that has two 220v plugs and one for UBS. Works fine for all my electronics.
  13. I have a PVP I have been using for years, and he’s very responsive, even during the busiest of times. He returns phone calls and emails quickly and always makes me feel like a valued client. If I had the kind of experience you describe, I would get a new PVP ASAP.
  14. I can’t speak to the 50% discount part of your question, but 3 of us went to the steakhouse the first night of the Pride TA, and we got one bottle of wine.
  15. Also, the hospital ones often have the baby’s footprints on them, and they have the name of the hospital prominently on the document. It’s really more like a keepsake/souvenir.
  16. Both of those emails are addressed to suite guests. The first one is for Diamond/Platinum Suite Guests, and the second is for Suite Guests. Diamond/Platinum passengers not in suites are only supposed to drop off carry-ones, not actually occupy the cabin until 1:30-ish when cabins are ready.
  17. My husband and I both applied for Nexus renewal in mid-October 2021. My new card came within about 2 weeks, no interview. His is still pending, 8 months later. Neither of them was expired at the time we applied.
  18. Platinum and Diamond guests are allowed to go to their cabins early, only to drop off carry-ons,
  19. The price that shows for advance purchase of internet packages includes a 15% discount.
  20. Hopefully she will get a negative test prior to the cruise. Too bad her doctor didn’t do an “official” test after her home test was positive.
  21. On the Pride TA we had to be out of our cabins by 7:15, and most everyone was off the ship by 9:00.
