  1. I believe we will be on the same sailing as you hope to book (July 6), but our Deck 15 cabin is forward, under other cabins. At this late date, though, chances are the available cabins would be those that were cancelled at the last minute, so not necessarily undesirable cabins.
  2. My original booking on the Seashore is June 2. I was concerned about the construction taking longer than expected and that date (with the overnight stay in Ocean Cay) being changed. I feel better now that they are moving other dates to that one. The June 2 price was excellent when I booked it, but has risen sharply.
  3. I called Casino Royale to book a cruise that I wanted to convert to my free Prime cruise later. I was told that I had to use an existing casino offer to book the cruise so they could later just change the offer code. It also could not be converted after the final payment date. Luckily, I had a certificate for $100 off that I had won/earned on a cruise a few weeks earlier, because my other offers did not extend as far out as the cruise we wanted to book. When I called to convert it to the Prime cruise, there was no problem. The difference in the $500 deposit I had originally paid and the amount of port fees/taxes was refunded to my credit card quickly. I have read that someone else had booked with NC and was able to convert to the Prime cruise, so talking to a different rep may have different results. The key to success for me was that $100 certificate with a date that extended past the date I wanted to book, and the date of the cruise being more than ninety days out.
  4. The missing diver was a different situation, not related to the boat/ferry crash. It happened on Deerfield Beach on the same day. I think the confusion was caused by the radio transmissions heard on the live videos. There was a mention of the missing diver at about 3:30 a.m. I wondered why a diver would be reported missing in the middle of the night, but it was just regarding the continued search.
  5. I just read that John Heald advised he would provide his next update at noon.
  6. I selected “No thanks” about six weeks ago for both our October 1 and December 6 cruises and have not received another offer.
  7. I have had that happen twice in the last two weeks for July cruises, once with MSC and once with Royal Caribbean. I check frequently at random times, and found cabins available at 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., respectively. They were both relatively good prices (for these times, anyway). Several more cabins have become available since then, but at much higher prices. To make this work, you need to know what your acceptable range is and be ready to book immediately, before someone else does.
  8. I haven’t had anything disappear, but about six weeks ago I received an offer for $300 off that mysteriously changed to $100 after a few days.
  9. My offers as Prime are almost non-existent. At one time I had eight different offers for $100 off. I booked a short, last minute cruise for early July last week, and the earliest date on any $100 off offer was August 1 🙄. I did get a certificate for a free interior on the Freedom on March. There were only six choices on the list, and I am not going to travel internationally for a free four-night cruise. There was one U.S. offer, so I am going to Miami (hate that drive) in November. I was that close to receiving a certificate that was completely useless. If I have a good time in the casino and am lucky, I might accidentally get to Prime again this year. But I am not interested in actively pursuing it.
  10. My number did not show on our 5/7/23 booking. I had a terrible time trying to check in and had to call for help. I asked about my missing number at the same time and was told they could see it on their side. It never did show up for me, but the cruise is listed in my history and I received points for it. You might want to wait until check in opens, as they have a special phone line just for that.
  11. I booked through my PVP last week and was offered Easy Pay. If you haven’t already booked online, try calling to book with a Carnival rep.
  12. Lots of good information in this great review. I believe it is the Seashore where the most changes from Seaside and Seascape were made.
  13. Did you discover the wonderful cookies that were put out in the buffet around 10 p.m. every night? Best food on the ship!
  14. That is exactly why 15 sounds so good to us. Debarkation morning was crazy last month (we carried off all our luggage). We waited for three elevators twenty minutes before self-assist was scheduled to begin. We finally realized there would never be an elevator with room for us and took an elevator going up instead (from Deck 10). The problem would be that once up to the deck requested, there is no way to select the correct deck going down. We figured that sooner or later, someone was going to request the debarkation deck, and eventually they did. We then snaked through the entire ship for over thirty minutes before getting to the gangway. Hopefully it will be easier to catch an elevator going down from 15. It should also be nice to have a quick walk to Biscayne Bay and the Jungle pool.
  15. I enjoyed your review very much. We had similar experiences on the May 7 sailing, even having a table under the bowling alley. You are right, it was amusing! I was disappointed in some ways because I had been on the Divina twice in 2014, but there is not a cruise line anywhere that is the same in 2023. And it was a bit unsettling to be on a cruise line that we were not familiar with. We have booked the Seaside again for July and will know what to expect. I think the ship had not yet adjusted to being in the U.S. by May 7 and have seen some photos that show some improvement. The Jungle pool had pads on only 4-6 loungers in front of the pool then; it looks like there are more now. We had to ask for washcloths, and they were never replaced (thankfully, I had brought some from home). And the omelet station had only two ingredients to add - very pale chopped tomatoes, and mushrooms. We were told we had to go to other areas and bring back our own meats and cheeses for the cook to add to our omelets. I saw a photo that shows more containers of extras at the omelet station. Did you happen to notice any of these changes? We booked very late and will be on deck 15 this time. Did you enjoy it? I am looking forward to trying it. I think the elevators will be easier to manage, and hopefully an asset on debarkation morning. We went to the lagoon in May and really enjoyed it. We intend to try another area in July.
  16. There was still (or again) security outside the teen club on the Magic in mid-April 2023. We never noticed bad behavior from kids on that particular cruise.
  17. I have absolutely no interest in sports. I assumed he was a player of some type of team sport.
  18. I take the ones I find home with me, then hide them on my next cruise, on a different ship and cruise line. Last time I found one on a Princess ship and left it on Royal Caribbean’s Coco Cay three weeks later. I tucked it up into the umbrella next to us because they had small children. One of the adults found it, marveled at how long it had been in the umbrella, then put it into her beach bag. Sorry, kids, I tried.
  19. “This fundraiser is no longer accepting donations”. It closed at $1,055. Comments have been removed.
  20. I remember my mother hanging out the laundry from our fourth floor balcony in Naples, Italy when I was 9-11 years old. She made me “go outside to play in the courtyard” while she did it, and would lower a basket on a rope so I could retrieve anything she dropped.
  21. Same here. I’ve had mine since sometime in 2015-17 and use them frequently.
  22. That helps, thank you. My long cruise is next year, so Black Friday would work. Knowing what the price would be on board would make it easier to calculate.
  23. A Celebration of Life ceremony could take the place of a funeral. But, $20,000.00?
  24. We always thought we were not interested in cruises longer than seven nights. Then we cruised for nine nights on a small ship over Christmas 2022 and loved it. Apparently most of our seven night cruises were on the Oasis class or equivalent ships, so of course we were exhausted after seven nights and ready to go home. We have a thirteen night on the Grandeur booked for next year and four days of internet just will not be enough.
