  1. I believe it is coming eventually as well. A well known Royal blog put up a video on youtube recently about what Royal needs to change (suggestions) and including gratuities in the advertised fare was one of them. Foreshadowing and conditioning perhaps. I would love to know the actual percentage of people removing the gratuities lately. My wager would be that it is going up.
  2. We already booked an AI for Feb 2024 and will revisit the possibility of cruising again in 2025 or so. Have been looking at MSC quite a bit lately as well as prices seem to be more reasonable.
  3. I remember when Chops was 25 per person and Portofino was 20.........ah the good old days.
  4. On our last cruise in May on Oasis we felt the crowding everywhere except in the CK. We gave up on trying to use the elevators very early on it was so bad. So I imagine it's pretty much the same thing.
  5. MSC is now something we are seriously considering to try at least once. Our next family vacation is already booked for Feb 2024 at an AI resort in the DR. We booked the AI because our last Oasis cruise (May 2023) was ok on a whole......but just ok (If it wasn't for the CK it wouldn't have been a positive experience i feel). We're liking that MSC will do somewhat of a loyalty status match and seeing as we're only diamond we're not that entrenched with Royal and are more than willing to expand our horizons.
  6. Thanks random person from the internet. Just make sure to keep your scooter in your room so kids can't play on them and people don't stub their toes. I mean, it's the rules after all.
  7. Lots of fluids and rest (sleep in the car) and by Saturday should be good to go.
  8. Oh my.....the mental gymnastics.... Hint, it has already been explained (to you specifically) in post #31.
  9. Are you kidding me?? Have you seen how poorly behaved kids are on cruise ships?? They don't even know to follow the rules!!!
  10. If either of my daughters injure themselves while playing on a scooter that's been left in the hallway on a Royal Caribbean ship I'll definitely be calling a lawyer.
  11. I guess I taught them about as good as the parents of those who leave their scooters in the hallway. "ASSISTIVE DEVICES. Assistive devices including mobility scooters must be stored and recharged in your stateroom so fire doors, corridors and elevator lobbies are kept clear for emergency evacuation."
  12. My kids love to play on abandoned hallway scooters.
  13. In my experience it has been no different than the MDR.
  14. OP, don't overthink it, have fun and make family memories. Ignore the curmudgeons.
  15. Sorrento's pizza is a pretty good free snack while on board in my opinion. I will easily walk right on by if they start charging for it though.
  16. True, and in all my cruises I have never seen the line ups that long.
  17. On our last cruise (May 2023) the line up for guest services on the last day was super long. Wonder why?
  18. There's thousands of passengers onboard, be smart about it and they'll never get caught. At 16-20 dollars per drink including mandatory tips I doubt she'll buy many anyway. Enjoy your cruise!!
  19. You'll be ok. Bonus is less waiting around.
  20. Both our kids had their own passports at 6 months of age. Easy peasy no stress involved.
  21. I use to love those kummelweck sandwiches but sadly last month they were barely edible. The beef was so tough that it was next to impossible to take a bite without the entire slice coming out of the bun. Tried it a few times on different days and same thing. Jaw got a good workout when I did manage to rip a piece off....rip, not bite.
