  1. Actually, yours (my) national sport is lacrosse. Damn….giving away Trivia hints now.
  2. Sorry we will be on different TA crossings in March/April. With your “hobby”, I was looking forward to you resolving the problem with the chair hogs. Have a great cruise.
  3. Hopefully this will be enforced on our Splendor cruise in March. Last year's March Splendor cruise was extremely frustrating with the chair hogs.....they just did not care about any other passengers. The only thing I would also like to see happen with this new policy is that "Man Overboard" be announced. OK....a bit "overboard" itself but I think is speaks to my anger with these people.
  4. Suggest you go on YouTube and type in Regent Splendor…..lots of great videos of various suites, dining venues, etc.
  5. Are you aware if Regent is "holding open" any suites on your cruise in case of COVID quarantine? I believe they may be doing that for our Splendor TA the end of March.
  6. Agree, Bill. One of the very large reasons we now sail almost exclusively with Regent. Will probably bring only 1 jacket for our Splendor TA in March.
  7. Well, I contracted Regent about our March TA on Splendor as we are in a GS and the Regent Suite is available. I demanded they give it to us. They laughed and laughed and laughed. But they did offer us a free drink coupon at any bar. Going to be a great cruise for sure. And that free drink will come in handy.
  8. Day of embarkation I will be in GM's office stomping my feet with tears flowing demanding the Regent Suite! Or, just at pool bar enjoying beverages.
  9. Martial arts? Forget the hearty hockey talk around the pool bar then. Or, look for the guy wearing a helmet.
  10. Good luck with whichever one you choose. Doubt you can go wrong either way. If Splendor is the winner, will look forward to some hearty hockey talk around the pool bar. Where in Alberta are you? A number of friends involved in the NHL.
  11. That is too bad. We are in a GS on Splendor in March and thought we would be upgraded to the Regent Suite!
  12. We are on the Splendor TA March 28 and can’t wait, especially having sailed on her this past March. A gorgeous ship with more dining venues/options and as Deepfreeze mentions, having specialty restaurants open on sea days (virtually the entire cruise) should make for some terrific meals. Also agree that Splendor is a “must try”. If you book this cruise, let’s look to have a drink together around the pool bar and talk about the Flames and Oilers.
  13. Agree with slidebite (hey, an Ex Canuck here) that there would most definitely not be an issue cruising on Regent at your age. We were on Splendor in March and there were a number of “youn’ens” aboard, and I mixed easily with them. I have taken the Peter Pan Pledge to Never Grow Up so I am a “young buffoon” forever. Typically terrific guests on Regent and we will be doing a TA on Splendor the end of March.
  14. Will be interesting to see what, if any, impact this will have on the client experience going forward.
  15. One would hope that for the cost of binoculars over a number of cruises that Regent could supply them in all suites, given the prices they charge per suite.
  16. Wendy../we were in a named suite, a GS. Another Canuck onboard for that cruise, Shania Twain. We’re back on Splendor in March for a TA.
  17. We were very disappointed on our Silver Muse Med cruise a few years ago. The upcharge for La Dame was “somewhat” worth it but Kaiseki was an absolute waste. Advertised as a theatrical dining experience, it actually was 2 chefs preparing food teppanyaki style with zero “theatrics” involved. Agree with Boblerm that SS was much more formal than Regent, to the point, every evening at every dining venue men had to wear jackets, save for Spaccanapoli. One evening early in the cruise we went to dinner in the main dining room and I was actually “instructed” I needed a jacket and was turned away. Because of dining with another couple and not wanting to make a scene, I returned to our suite and put one on. Once in the dining room, I noticed virtually every gentleman there had removed their jackets and had them slung over the back of their seats. We were in a nice Silver Suite but I’d does not compare to Regents comparable suites, and with fewer amenities. That was our second cruise on SS, With Shadow to Alaska being our first, and our last.
  18. We had them in our suite on Splendor in March
  19. Montreal…..our home town. If you need any suggestions, ask away
  20. We recently heard from friends who were on Splendor not too long ago that they ordered Crown Royal and were told it was not available but that JW Scotch was then put into the CR bottles and served. As an ex Canuck (David Nevin is one of us, albeit not an "ex) I would view this as sacriligous and would probably become a tad vocal. I am trusting CR will be onboard for our March TA on Splendor. Great reports, GP, from another GP from Georgia.
