fkfad Posted August 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We also leave this Sunday! I've been watching the weather for the past two weeks (and here we go again)!
cruise21102 Posted August 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2017 looks a bit sporty. Pride 9/3/
bar1068 Posted August 31, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Leaving on Sunday on Pride also. We'll "keep an eye" out, though we'll rely on the captain and crew for much much better eyes. Not really nervous or worried. Forecasts right now still have it way off the east coast into middle of next week, and for our cruise, hopefully stays on its current southwest track. Should it track north east, we should be heading back to Baltimore by then. If not, we'll just enjoy a little extra rockin!!
vacruizer Posted August 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2017 I also sail Sunday. Don't think Amber Cove next Thursday is happening! I figure there will be an itinerary change - maybe Western instead? As long as the ship sails I'm on vacation and don't care!
chadci Posted August 31, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Saturday on Glory. Kinda bummed at the idea of missing a few of the ports (eastern) but ''tis the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rare mking8288 Posted August 31, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Always carry 5 to 7 extra days of personal medications, taking 3 days worth of spare as recommended aren't always enough ... in case ships need to do some figure 8's or donuts until safe to dock & disembark. We carry 7+ days of extra with us. Happy & safe cruising ... this is the season & far from over.

Lem_On_Ade Posted August 31, 2017 #12 Share Posted August 31, 2017 I'm supposed to be sailing out of Port Canaveral on the 9th. I'll be bummed if we don't get to but I'm trying not to worry about it since I can't control the weather. I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope for the best! OnCampus2k Posted August 31, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We leave on the Vista on 9/9. This new model gives me hope! Mizchief224 Posted August 31, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We leave the 9th from Fort Lauderdale on the Conquest for our first cruise. I am watching this hurricane like a crazy woman. I know I can't change the weather but I did so much research into our ports!!! I hope she doesn't cause to much distruction or ruin to many vacation plans. OCruisers Posted August 31, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Hurricane Irma continues to gain strength. No one really knows for sure at this point which way it will turn.
OnCampus2k Posted August 31, 2017 #17 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Exactly!!! I'm just worried about getting on the ship. After that, I'm fine with whatever happens. We normally sail in the spring but we couldn't this year, so this was the ONLY time we could get vacation. We are on the Vista 9/9 sailing along with you! I hope we get to keep the same itinerary, but as long as I can get on that ship I'm good!

nicole9s Posted August 31, 2017 #21 Share Posted August 31, 2017 ugh, a few of those 'spaghetti strands' are headed right where I will be up in CA! Way too early to tell, and it doesn't really say when it would reach that far (the cone on the nhc website doesn't project that far out), but we don't get back to NY til the 9th! chadci Posted August 31, 2017 #22 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We get back to Miami on the 9th as well. We live on the other coast of FL so we watch this stuff like hawks anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dreamz1109 Posted August 31, 2017 #23 Share Posted August 31, 2017 We leave sunday on the breakaway from NY to Bermuda. Hoping the water stays relatively calm. Otherwise I don't care where the boat goes as long as im not sick from large swells the whole time. I am a littler nervous though
CruisingBrian Posted August 31, 2017 #24 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Leaving Sunday from NJ to Bermuda on Celebrity Summit. I've always heard that if the weather is bad, the ship will be re-routed. So we'll see what happens. A new adventure!
mochameg Posted August 31, 2017 #25 Share Posted August 31, 2017 Sailing 9/9 out of Miami on Vista .... looking sketchy that far out as well. Hopefully it re-curves back out to sea before getting close enough to the Leeward Islands!
