Our next cruise is on the Magic this coming Saturday,it was to be my DW 25th cruise. We were excited about this but as we got near the departure date we were informed that because my DW won one of her cruises that this would not be her 25th.Has anyone ever heard of this ? I guess it makes sense right ?

Yes. If your wife won this cruise it is considered a non revenue cruise (even if you spent money on board) and doesn't count towards your milestone rewards. My wife and I are in the same boat, so to speak. I can't claim my 50th cruise milestone until my 52nd cruise. :(

Hmmm so I received a cruise where I paid taxes only... will that one not count either? It was a special offer after the hurricanes and they were trying to fill up the ships.

If you know how to view your past cruises in the Manage / VIFP Club section on Carnival's website, you will be able to tell. If you click on "details" of the cruise in question it will tell you how many VIFP points you earned. If it says 0.00 Non Revenue Cruise, Then that cruise will not count towards any Milestone Awards.

It is 25% of the base cruise price (before tax and port fees), given as an OBC. Also given at 50 cruises and 75. The 100th milestone is a free OS, 8 day, except for tax and port fees. Very nice, but you have to call and claim!:D

So am guessing it’s better for husband & wife to claim their milestone cruises separately then? That could amount to a lot of OBC depending on the cruise [emoji857]

It will be 25% of the individual fare. Both may be used on the same cruise, but 25% for each.

The 100th milestone is full fare for two for each guest. Very nice!

It does get a bit confusing. Calling for info will also get you assorted answers. We recommend using the Diamond Desk, if possible. Did hear there is a special Milestone phone number, too.

Good luck to all getting the special, numbered cards. If you're on a b2b, it won't happen. Not a biggie; I'll take the $$.:D

My husband and I both reached 25 cruises at the same time but we waited to use the 25% for long cruises. One on a Hawaii cruise and one on a Med cruise. Nice perk.

Yes, I won a cruise many years ago playing bingo. As others have stated doesn't count toward milestones, levels, etc.

Did you pay taxes? My brother or sister won a cruise through the casino a few years back and for awhile it wasn't showing up as a cruise that counted towards rewards status but then at some point it did start counting. The only thing we could figure out was that we paid taxes. Similarly (and I'm dating myself) back when bounce back offers started for us, they didn't count for rewards for the gambler but did for the guest. Now I think it counts for both.

Maybe milestone and cruise days are different and I'm not speaking the same language as you all ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong:

I was under the impression that the 25th cruise awarded 25% OFF a future cruise. Now I'm seeing the award is 25% of the cruise price in OBC. Which is correct?

Yes, that is correct. AND, it is non-refundable. So here is what you do. Find yourself a 14 day Journeys cruise. We just did that and got $1480.00 OBC. In order to make sure we got it. I went to the casino 3 nights in a row and followed this routine. Put S&S card in a slot machine and downloaded $500.00 from my S&S account. Pushed the machines button once and then cashed out the money onto the S&S card. Took my card to the casino cage and cashed it out. $1500 cold hard cash for 10 minutes work on 3 nights.

Ok. Please help me make sure that we have planned this correctly. DH’s 25th cruise will be on our 14 day Hawaii cruise in January 2019. We chose this to be his 25th cruise because when I called Carnival, they said that you get OBC for 25% of your 25th cruise amount paid. You must call them before your 25th cruise and let them know that you want to receive the 25%. We thought that this would be one of our higher priced cruises so we should make it his milestone. Will he get the 25% on that cruise or will it be given on a cruise after his 25th, but be in the amount paid for the 25th one? It sounds so confusing and the girl at Carnival put me on hold several times because she really had no idea how it worked. Thanks in advance for any clarification.

I plan on using my OBC on the Horizon TA in May. That will be 2 years from my Vista inaugural, which was #25. I've been assured by all the fine folks on these boards that Carnival does NOT hold to the 18 months stated in the letter (which was dated 6 weeks prior to actually sailing on #25). That better be the case or I'll be mighty unhappy!!

Anyway, I've booked Horizon through a TA (who happens to be it Kuala Lumpur right now). Does he have to call to have this applied or can I? I rarely use a TA and am used to doing things myself but know I must go through him for payments, etc.

You need to get this information from Carnival. Being your "letter" had a specific date- you seem to think it doesn't apply to you. Probably best to find out now by calling the Milestone number above.

We take the remaining money out on purchased Carnival gift cards from Cherry on Top. Then, we can use them on a future cruise or pay off a cruise balance. Very easy. We don't do casino.:D

It is greatly superior to have cash vs any gift cards.

Very simple process.

I think that because everyone on these boards in the past has said they don't hold cruisers to the 18-month "use-by" date that's in the letter.

I'll give them a call. I was just concerned that they wouldn't even talk to me since I booked through a TA.
